My new toy/daily driver. 2019 M2 Comp, manual

It's lovely compact and nippy, but I hate the auto blip.

Ok I can turn it off, which I frequently do, but to do so I have to turn off all the stability controls. It doesn't bother me in the dry, or if out for fun, but I feel a bit silly turning off for drive to work on wet cold slippery tyres!

If I get it mapped, (who would you recommend) can I get the auto blip disabled all the time? Or better still off independent of stability.

None of my other cars have it and I have managed for the last 36yrs!

Thanks in advance

Mat

Re the autoblip, I read an Evo review (July 18) which said as follows... 'There’s now a rev-match system for downshifts, but it can be disabled by either switching off the ESP (steady now!) or by rummaging through the various driver settings'.

I maybe read too much into this but I took that to mean it was a new feature on the competition cars that this could now be deselected w/o having to disable ESP...

Another Owner may be able to confirm...

It is a bit nannying. I just heal and toe over it anyway

I'm afraid I don't think I can not turn it off in BMW approved menus, I think you can with bimmer code, but that sounds a bit dodgy. Any experience?

I did just set m button to all off, fine in the summer, but on commute to work when I'm half asleep?

Yes you can blip over it, but some times im not sure who is doing what!

Bimmercode is fine and widely used, I had the Alpina blue dials coded to my 7 series, very easy and all the popular changes are pre loaded so you don't have to mess around just tick a box and press code.

You can 100% mess with the auto-blip function with BM3, but that requires you to remap.

I have an M4 manual (EU6 too, so prety much the same drivetrain as your car) and I just drive with DSC off all the time. Would recommend ditching the PSS tyres for a start (they're rubbish in the wet). I know this will sound odd but I have Cup2s and ran them last winter (again with DSC off all the time) and had no problems. Yes there's been a couple of 'learning' moments but nothing I wasn't ready for.

If you daily drive your car then I'd recommend PS4S tyres as they're just great all weather tyres.
