I have tried googling how to do this but none of the YouTube videos seem to show an M3 E92 2012 with Adaptive lights. The videos that are on there show that a bulb connector has to be disconnected from the top in the engine bay and then to prise a cover off the back of the headlight and then from inside the wheelarch remove the flap to access the back of the headlight.

However, in my car, there are 3 small bolts holding the cover in place and they look tricky to get to.

Is there a definitive way of changing the bulbs or a link to the correct video please?

Many thanks, CycleSi

Sounds like a job for....Halfords!

No, only joking.

I have the same issue, and have been quoted a ridiculous sum of money by my local dealer. Looking at the lights I do think it might be, at best, extremely awkward, unless you remove the relevant wheel to improve access. Certainly was difficult on my wife's E91 330, with non-adaptive, halogens.

Out of interest - why are you changing? Bulb failure or noticeable decline in performance?

I have now found out that the wheel needs to be removed, followed by the wheel arch liner, then you can access the torx bolts holding the cover on.

I am upgrading to Osram Xenarc Night Breaker Laser bulbs simply because I feel the performance of the current OEM Xenon bulbs has deteriorated over the past year or so.

Have now got the new Osram bulbs fitted and there is a noticeable improvement over the original OEM bulbs.

Is the beam cut-off pattern the same as with the OEM bulbs?

I normally upgrade globes in my cars, and you are right. Normally it just gets brighter in the pattern, but the pattern doesn't extend up the road which is where you really want it.

All I can say is I can see more than I did before and it is clearer/brighter.

Should've gone to Specsavers then.
