my mates dad had a BMW 3.0 sports coupe lightweight (not sure of the badge letters, CSLi?), for some unknown reason (dementia?) he let the lad use it to pick me up, the seats were 0.9x the width of my buttocks (and hard), the suspension was er..."sporty" and the drive home (what i saw of it when my eyes were open) decidedly close to possibly my last moments on earth, which I hope not to be able to compare with for some time just yet, the gear lever (raised between the seats perched on the tunnel) was where he liked his hand to be rather than gripping the steering wheel (he only had to look at my knuckles gripping the seat edge for the definition of "grip") so he was left with just his right hand on the wheel to aim the long bonnet where it seemed the car would oblige him by going.

I had a similar experience (im just lucky) with another mate in a MGC soft top, i dont accept lifts off mates now
