My son has bought a 91 Eunos. Left lights on at work and battery is totally flat. Tried bump starting but no joy. The battery is in the boot. The boot is locked and the lock has previously been attempted to be drilled out so doesn't work. The battery is flat and the boot opener is a button in the center console. There are no jump points on the engine on a 91 Eunos. How can he get into the boot to access the battery?

To everyone who participated in this thread years ago, I have a sudden cry for help!

I am a proud new owner of a mk1 mx5 1995 and a week in, I have shut my only set of keys in the boot, with all doors locked and the roof shut. I can't think of a way to get in. Please could somebody pm me with some help?
How did you get on (or in)?

Anyone willing to PM me the emergency procedure please?

I imagine from having a poke about, it's similar to a Chimaera or Cerbera. But forewarned is forearmed and all that!

If you jump to the main terminal on the starter solenoid or alternator and a suitable earth point on the engine block, that works on most cars where the battery is an arse to get at and there's no dedicated jump posts. Those main cables are almost always an uninterrupted run to the battery positive.

There's also low output chargers that use the cigarette lighter. It'll take a long time to fully charge a battery but might give you enough juice in a short time for a lock popper.
