is there a keyword or something unique that i can search for to find it, there is quite a few mx-5's for sale.

link would be fantastic - if you're paying for the ad i don't see how this would break any rules - PH wouldn't be missing out on any revenue and if it helps promote the classifieds, happy days?

PH Search. I believe that linking to a specific advert is against the posting rules.

Look for the one with "Turbo" in the title.

If your search on MK1 MX5's there aren't that many.

Sort price by highest first and my car is listed in the top few.

Am considering sticking the MX5 in storage (warm, dry unit under dust covers) and keeping her long term.

Project cost we well over £8,500 + a load of time (not costed in) so a bargain for someone.

A couple of recent acquisitions have left me with storage issues so I am dropping the price of my MX5.

It's a Eunos not an MX-5 surely?

You mean it's a Roadster, not an MX5. Eunos is the marque, not the model.

Sorry - yes it's a Eunos Roadster.

A bit of an improvement on this:

Was planned to be a quick refurb on what was actually a very solid car but (as ever) we went a bit MAD!

Full Waxoil underneath and injected in to all cavities,
Complete respray in original colour

CHASSIS
Rebuilt std suspension,
Rebuilt std brakes,

Powder coated std wheels,

INTERIOR
Re-connolised seats,
Fully steam cleaned carpets,
New MX5 Parts mats,
New (Tan Mohair) hood yet to be fitted,

MECHANICALS
Low mile (original engine) 1.6L JDM spec lump,
Cylinder head cooling re-route kit (now cools from the rear),
Huge Fast 5 ally radiator,
Large intercooler (painted stealth black) soft mounted on custom made cradle,
19 row thermostatically controlled Mocal oil cooler (painted stealth black),
Black Cat Developments tubular SS manifold (Ceramic coated inside and out),
Brand new TD04 turbo charger with new SS lines,
Black Cat Developments tubular SS downpipe (Ceramic coated inside and out),
Fast 5 SS high flow exhaust system with sensible tail pipe (not a drain pipe!),
High flow Foam air filter on black Silicone elbow,
RX8 yellow fuel injectors,
ME221 stand alone ECU with TPS,
Wide bank lamba guage (mounted in glove box),
Competition Clutches lightweight Steel Flywheel,
Competition Clutches Stage 2 clutch kit (very light),
All intercooler piping is custom made (mandrel bent) and black crackle coated,

+ Loads and loads of other small parts / mods!

Now that she is finished, I am not sure what I will do with her as she is part of a fleet of 7 cars and I can;t drive them all!
Who did the original resto work? This pic looks like Richard Henry's place....

Deposit taken AND KEPT as the buyer pulled out last Friday ahead of collecting the car on Sunday!

Apparently was struggling to get insurance on the car even though he had owned Porsches in the past which sounds odd.

Car is going down to Dave at Valley5 on the 19th October for a full live map of the ME221 as I am still on a base map which whilst this drives well, the cold start and idle could be better.

I am assured that the car will drive beautifully after this and the 4 hour drive back should give me time to appreciate the differences!

Looking like she will be put back in to hibernation for the winter and hopefully finally enjoyed in Spring 2019!

Will post an update when she is done.

Skinny

I am driving down early Friday for the live mapping and I am staying over on the Friday night so that the cold start can be perfected on the Saturday morning

Valley5 are the "go to" mappers for ME221 so have a huge amount of experience so they know how to map the cold start without having to actually have the car "cold".

450 mile round trip on Friday including mapping and all I can say is WOW!

She made 238bhp at only 9.5psi before we maxxed the RX8 yellow injectors at 86% duty cycle.

Dave (ME221 genius) said that the pipework (all mandrel bent) and large intercooler setup must be flowing beautifully as she made strong power at such modest boost.

The car is now NIGHT & DAY different to how she ran on the G19 supplied base map and she now starts on the first turn of the key and idles rock solid. Boost starts to build from around 2,200 rpm and hits peak at 2,800 before holding strong until the 7,500 rev limiter (Dave knocked this back from 7,800 as there was no gain over 7,500 so gentler on the engine).

This was all on actuator controled boost as I don't have an Electronic Boost Controller (EBC) fitted (now on order!) so there is more to come.

Will be returning to Valley5 in a few weeks with larger Blue injectors (540's), EBC, variable Throttle Position Sensor which he says should produce a safe 260 to 270bhp whilst limiting torque at the bottom end to safeguard the standard rods.

Anyone that is running an ME221 on a base map is seriously missing a trick as although the car will pull great on boost, they run like a pig on idle and part throttle (mine did). You won't realise how bad they are until you get it properly mapped!

Dave first sorted the idle out (took him about 10 mins to nail it!), then she was mapped on zero boost before we steadily increased throttle (and therefore boost) on a few 4th gear runs. Once all this was perfected and the smoothed out we then did a few full bore passes up to the rev limiter in all 5 gears (on a private road of course) and he massaged the fueling to get her absolutely spot on.

The only down side was that I managed to set the standard brake pads on fire when braking from repeated rev limiter passes in 5th gear woohoo

Having wanted to keep the car looking standard it is now not going to be possible as the brakes, wheels and suspension now need to be upgraded to cope with what is under the bonnet!

We will see what she goes like with 260-270bhp in a few weeks before I look at a forged VVTi lump with a GT2860 bolted to it with a late 6 speed gearbox for the whole 400+bhp experience!

She will also be visiting Jack Smith Trimmers on the next trip down to Valley5 for a new Tan Mohair hood and maybe a set of re-trimmed Lotus Elise seats to hold you in better!

I am very impressed with the bang for the buck that these little things offer!

Watch this space!
