I've always wanted a maserati.
Had a c63 ppp a few years ago which was a awesome car tbh.
The only thing after having a gtr is nothing comes close to the performance (that I can afford). Although they are a bit soulless IMHO.
I always end up back in one tho 😂 😂 😂

I think that has been the response of other owners who have had Ferraris, Lamborghiis, Porsches,etc. but have often returned to the good ole Nissan. I had a look at the supercharged 5.0 F-Type the other day but concluded it was way overpriced for what it was.Had a c63 ppp a few years ago which was a awesome car tbh.

Did 300 miles in North Wales around the foothills of Snowdon in my R35 yesterday. I know it's not a manual but it's so much more involving than a F type while being otherworldly with regards to confidence. I don't track mine but as a road to set your hair on fire once in awhile it's just an outstanding car.
I can see myself getting a 911 GTS or Cayman GT4 as a slightly more delicate option alongside the GTR but as a ballistic road car I can't imagine anything else at the moment apart from a 720S which is 4x the cost.
I tried a 991.1 Turbo last year and it was far less involving than the GTR. If I had to have one car then the Turbo would be the one but as a weekend car it feels too muted in response.

Much as though I love the GTR it is time for a change and although the Ftype is not quite as quick it is probably more fun to drive in normal conditions.

been reading all threads on these cars as buying one, noticed you are getting rid of yours,if you are selling maybe interested, iare they good cars to live with , just selling my m6 bmw & getting one as weekend toy, how long you owned ? Much as though I love the GTR it is time for a change and although the Ftype is not quite as quick it is probably more fun to drive in normal conditions.

Ah sorry a deal has been done, going tomorrow.Great cars though, incredibly easy to live with as a daily driver everyone should have one at some point.
I thought long and hard about buying a R35 GTR when I sold my supercharged 370z , a lot of man maths was involved, I made a shortlist and thought I'd try the Jaguar XF-R (As well as M4, Lexus RCF, Vauxhall VXR8). I settled on a 2012 one with single owner, had it almost a year now and truth be told the more I drive it the happier I am with the decision. No doubt financially its better for me as I could buy the Jag with cash and would have had pcp payments as well on a R35, insurance was coming in at around £1k for the GTR and its only £500 for the Jag
Of course its not up there with the GTR on performance but when rolling its not that far off and its so much more practical day to day, would be a different story of course if I was into track days but a few simple mods would help that

I bought a F-Type V8S after the GTR. More comfortable, more than fast enough for the road, fantastic sound, and a beast when in Sport/Dynamic mode.
Only 2 seats but the rear GTR seats were impossible to use behind me (6'1'').
Buying a couple of years old makes far more sense than new depreciation wise. I'm on my second after selling the first and regretting it.
If 4 seats are a must then it depends on cost of ownership. Of those not yet covered include the California and some of the older V12 Ferrari's. Perhaps an Aston?

The rear seats in a GTR are pointless IMO, I only had people in the back of my car maybe 5 times over the 18 months of ownership.
Back on topic, many people end up in an R8 V10 or into an RS6 after the GTR. Those with deeper pockets have ended up in a Huracan or a 720S with a mix of GT3's thrown in too for good measure.
Personally, I need something bigger to use for the family, still got an older model GTR for kicks and in the next 6/8 months will end up in either a Macan/RRS or an M5/RS6. The cars are worlds apart, but it needs to be something that is big enough for the family and have a boot full of stuff

I agree. 14 and 12 year olds fit. Just. I wouldn’t countenance for a long journey, but under an hour is fine. Key measure is whether their legs are long enough for feet to fit under the front seats as opposed to toddlers whose feet stick out straight into the seat back. Driver and front passenger 6ft and 5’9”, so not artificially inflating rear legroom.

Whats the MY17 like on the motorway? Is she a noisey uncomfortable car? I'm leaning toward buying it however a have a few niggles which make me a bit indecisive. Driver and front passenger 6ft and 5’9”, so not artificially inflating rear legroom.

I'm a little over 6ft and 16 stone and I sat in the back of a R35 , just , with my wife in the passenger seat and her seat all the way forward.
However I couldn't sit in the passenger seat with her in the back
With the drivers seat adjusted for me you could just get your hand between the back of the seat and the rear seat squab , there was no room for legs
