Hoorah! After finishing a weldathon on our 2.5 it passed its test no problem. I had to mend the front inner wing (driver's side) and the front of the sill. There was also a tricky repair to the front chassis rail where it slopes down behind the lower wishbone. A further repair to the floor stiffener was also needed as some idiot (not me for once) had jacked it under there and squashed it. Replacing a front balljoint was a royal pain as the bolt on the bottom of the shock was seized solid and had to be cut. More waxoil and underseal so now the blasted thing stinks but is at least legal again. It's 13 years old so I know I can't expect miracles, but at only 50000 it's disappointing. My MB 190e - also new MOT - is still pretty solid at 27!
