Mazda 2 steering/remote locking

I have a Mazda 2 2012.
I have noticed that there is a clunking noise on the steering when I am turning left or right, seems to go when I have been driving for a bit. I checked on Google, there were some recalls for this but my car was registered March 2012 and the recalls seem to be from December 2012.

I have booked it into a garage next week but I am worried that it may be very expensive to fix. Has anyone any idea what it could be?
Also the remote locking does not work any more, I have had the battery checked and that OK, I was wondering what it could be.
