VXR Recaro's in an MX-5 - Will it work?

Hi,

I am slowly doing up a 2006 MX-5 (Mk 3). The seats ideally need a retrim (circa £1000) but I have been offered a pair of superb condition Recaro seats from a Mk 5 Astra VXR for free from an old work mate.

Before I drive 270 miles to Scotland to pick them does anyone know if they can be fitted into a Mazda? I cannot find much online about modified subframes or even if they will actually fit. I know I will need to deactivate the passenger sensor and side airbags.

If I can make these fit I am thinking they will look as close to OEM as they can and hopefully look as good as the ones in the Sport Tech Recaro they did a few years ago.

sounds over the top to me a grand for refurb seats, a few hundred quid tops surely? have a look on ebay, loads on there
