I picked this up for £1500 last week and I'm having so much fun with it. Its miles better than the Lotus M100 that I used to own.
It has 120km on the clock and I've done plenty more in the week that I have owned it. What was supposed to be a quick run on Saturday turned into a 120 mile trip across the Peak District.
I took it across the Snake Pass.
Pictured here at the Snake Pass pub.
The interior is much nicer than I remember when I viewed it. The carpet is coming a bit loose near the sills but everything looks brand new.
Also, bonus NC next to mine at the petrol station.
The only really problem with it is that the windows do not work. I took the door panels off and the runners look really dry. Hopefully lubricating the runners with some Shin Etsu grease will sort them out.

That looks superb Tybo - how does it compare in driving feel to your old supercharged and turbo cars?
Is it still standard power?
Thanks Snotrag. Is it still standard power?
It’s very similar, but more planted and stable. I’m still unsure if that makes it better or worse, though.
It has the BBR super175 package, so is 180 BHP. And to honest, I’m never left craving any more. For me, being N/A really suits the MX5. My turbo Mk1, although hugely entertaining at times, was, I feel, too much, and spoiled the character of the car in some ways.
The old supercharged Mk2, though. That was spot-on. One I wish I’d never sold.
My second MX-5, a Kuro I've had since last year. 2.5L with forged components, turbo, rising rate fuel system, dual friction clutch, custom EcuTek ECU/map, BBR manifold/exhaust, intercooler, Bosch injectors, V-MAXX/EBC brakes, custom anti roll bar, Koni shocks/custom springsOZ Formula HLT wheels, 225 45 R17 Pilot 4s, upgraded plugs/filters. Pioneer wireless CarPlay multimedia.

Fabulous.About 12 years since buying my first one, and 4 years since I last owned one, meet MX-5 number 4 for me. Boxster is up for sale, just could not keep away.

Not even picked it up yet, but was dirt cheap, solid, and comes with Meister R, sticky tyres and a rorty exhaust. Cannot wait to fling this round Blyton park!

I started looking for a clean NA a couple of months ago, and ended up doing some man maths and ordering a new ND2 which I'll be picking up in early September, but this thread has reminded me just how "right" a clean and sorted NA looks. It does seem that asking price is no indicator of quaity and there is a lot of dross for sale out there tarted up to look shiny.
Maybe I should have just bought ten of those instead so at least one would always have a valid MOT while the others were being welded back together
My last MX5:
Sold for scrap when it needed welding, a clutch, a master cylinder, an exhaust, all four discs/pads, and with ratty paint. Chap in Penarth repaired it and sold it, so I'd love to find the current owner!
