If you don't buy the car, at least there's plenty to do there, we often go over, take Mustang out for a run. The vendor's most likely an older chap, hence the low miles, garage kept & under sealed, wonder what he'd drop to.

If that's a genuine P71 and carfax's ok that's a good value for money car.

Does seem the first decent priced late-ish model one that I have seen in the classifieds.

Much though some may find them appealing, I don't, and you can buy a Cadillac CTS 3.6 Sport for that money which will be faster and handle better. Just a thought.

The idea and appeal of the Vic is that it isn't a 'Sport'. They really are extremely comfortable cruisers.

I rented one for a week last year in Florida, did Miami airport to st petersburg and back along with some running about. Was ace I loved it. Lots of freeway and It was getting 26 miles to the us gallon.

I'm 32 so not exactly target market but I had a v8 stag on the west coast the 2 weeks before. Not sure I would want one in the UK but perfect in the States

What exactly did you love about the car? I haven’t driven one yet and I’m desperate to buy one.

I would also love a Crown Vic. P71 in black. They're cheap in the US but I think the examples you find in the UK are way too expensive, especially as many have clearly been well used. I understand that's what you get with an ex-police car, but the prices are a bit daft.

I'll happily sell you one - and arrange shipping to UK - just tell me what you are after. The car would come out of inland Florida - so zero rust. Tell me what you need.

My pistonheads email address doesn't work anymore - so let me know if you are serious and I'll send my contact details.

I also have access to Orange/Seminole/Lake/Osceola County and OPD/KPD/Winter Garden and Apopka PD and LEVO police auctions - the times they are a changing and P71 cruisers will soon be a thing of the past, as most agencies transition to more efficient/adaptable SUV type vehicles.

This is my daughter's current cruiser...

Just let me know what you are looking for, what kind of budget you have in mind and I'll come up with some suggestions. I have a reputable connection in a UK based fellow member of this esteemed forum, who can handle the transaction at that end.

So - if you have a hankering for a Crown Vic (or any other budget-priced, but interesting American vehicle), give me a nudge. Happy to supply references (from PH members) who I've helped with US purchases in the past - parts, accessories, clothing etc...

I have always secretly had a soft spot for these. No idea why, because they are everything I hate in a car, but for some reason......?

I did eventually get round to buying one in 2014, well a Mercury Grand Marquis. Loved it and I have to say it was pretty quick in the traffic light grand prix.

Surprised a few boy racers.

I only had it for 8 months then I sold it for 50% more than I paid for it to finance a 2016 Mustang. I don't have that either now frown

I ended up buying a absolutely mint condition 2011 Crown Vic with only 56k miles direct from a small town Police Department in Florida. It was from a small town 3 miles long and 2 streets wide populated solely my multi-millionaires, and with a 30mph speed limit. It has only ever been driven by the same Officer, who was gutted to see it go! It really is in 'as new' condition. Such a good find.
It will be the only P71 (well P7B actually) still in it's original markings (and with it's original equipment) in the UK and probably Europe. Normally these cars have to be stripped of all equipment and markings when they are sold or go to auction but i managed to persuade the Police Department otherwise.

Just waiting to ship it over to Blighty now.
