I got the Mustang out of hibernation yesterday, took it for a blast around the Peak District. I forgot how much i still love this car after nearly 20 years. I changed the wheels over the winter to some Magnum 500's, fitted some BF Goodrich tyres and took off the chrome wheel arch trims to give it a cleaner look. Really happy with how it looks now.

Went to a local cars and coffee today as the weather was actually pretty nice.

A few other nice yanks there too.
Random post, but think I saw you by Castleford Asda the other day.
The car definitely put a smile on my face. thumbup
Seems likely, don't think there's another round this neck of the woods! Funnily enough, that ASDA is easiest for me to get fuel without blocking half the station.

Still going to the Motorist for Cars and Coffee in it, seen a few going there, only found out that Leeds Cruise had restarted at Skelton Lake services last week!

That looks fantastic. I was in the Peak District yesterday as well yesterday, but in my T5, not the Firebird. Finally got chance to take the Firebird out today, nice to blow the cobwebs out!

Sorry no, it was the car JC was driving in the show. The area they were filming in was JC's old stamping ground as a teenager and was reckoned to be a little bit like small town USA in the 50s. I had just designed and PM'd the farm house where they happened to be and the farmer's wife phoned me 'cos they knew I liked American cars. She invited all the crew in for tea and biscuits and a warm up. (it was a very cold day)

DVLA says it's taxed and last V5 issued in the 90s so probably same owner smile

Had my first yank for 2 years now. My S1987 GT Convertible

My real Americana passion is the 1950's. Might be making that happen this summer!
Stay tuned.

Thanks! My first yank and will not be my last.

I could write you a list!

But back on planet earth i'm in discussions about a 1957 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe.

My favourite year of Cadillac , in my favourite colour as well!

Excellent.

There's a lot of love for the '57 Caddy's, I have two friends that also cite the '57 as their fav fifties Caddy.

For me though, it misses the boat, and I'd happily take any year Caddy from '50-'59 with the exception of the '57 laugh

Everyone has an opinion biggrin

Best years for me are the 57 and the 53.

One of the reasons i love 50's Americana so much is the yearly redesigns! So many different looks.

i had a 57 Series 62 Conv for many years, sold it to a friend in 2015, always regretted it, loved the styling, always thoght it looked like a giant Corvette, great car to drive as well, i drove it to Sweden and back twice, ive had one or two Cadiilacs over the years :-)

Indeed.
53,54 & 55 are my favourites.

But I do love the shear outrageousness of a '59 as well.
