Ah yes 70 ... seen your profile now ... here's my '72, albeit with a slightly smaller engine smile

Correct - 70 has the double headlights, the 71/72 went single. Good to see there's some other Chevelles over on this side of the pond! I was wondering how many were over here...searching the forums a bit only seemed to pull up 5 or 10.

Nice ride - I like the blue with black stripes. What engine is in yours?

Not mine, but the MIL's tank.
Absolutely superb! A friend is rebuilding a 58 Coupe de Ville albeit with the 500ci engine plus disc brakes to stop it. Lovely cars.

Moved to UK last year and finally got my car shipped over and MOT'd. Brand new to the forum and hoping to meet some other American classic enthusiasts. Here's my baby.....

My 1950 Chevy Styleline 2dr Sedan.
I got carried away when I took it off the road in 2014 to replace the suspension with air ride. I ended up doing a 3yr complete nut and bolt rebuild ! I'm sure most on here can relate.
Briefly, it now runs a fuel injected aluminium 5.7 Chevrolet V8 LS1 engine with a 4L60e transmission, LSD rear and air suspension.
Plus I have around £20k in paint and interior. So easy to get carried away once you start !
I'll most likely be putting it up for sale in May.

It's not an original engine....I didn't have an extra $40-50k lying around for an original numbers matching LS5 or LS6 smile
When I bought it, it had a 454 out of a truck, and after a few months, got on it one day and wiped out a cam lobe & lifter. Opened up the engine, found all sorts of other things wrong or about to be going wrong, including that the internals of the engine were a 427! (same block/bore as 454, but shorter stroke)

Fast forward and I got another 454 truck block and rebuilt everything, with all the go fast goodies and big open chambered heads, high compression ratio, high lift cam, etc

Thanks, it was done by Chris Vining at CustomCoachTrimming. Can't recommend him highly enough.

And I got my images mixed up I noticed. Missed under the bonnet shot. Replaced now!
