Very nice indeed, welcome to the Yank V8 club.Nice ride
This is only the third American car that I’ve owned out of many hundreds of cars. The first was a lovely 69 manual T Top Daytona yellow Stingray that I bought in Florida whilst on Holliday in August 92. I very Stupidly sold it in July 95 to a “ trader “ who was shipping every Corvette he could find, out to a mysterious buyer he called “Pierre” in France. He even refused to tell me who the buyer in France was, 12 years later.....
I’ve been looking for that Stingray for years, hoping it will turn up one day.
I also have a Plum Crazy 1970 Challenger R / T SE Full restoration project that will soon be for sale
In 1982, I had a good pal called Graham Lumley ( Graham are you out there ) from Stratford East London, who had a jacked up 67/68 Camaro 327 in metallic brown, that I used to hoon about with in my “ Tweaked / very quick” 72 3 Litre Capri. Wanted a first Gen Camaro ever since ! A recent Camaro Z-28 feature in Classic Cars mag, re ignited the flame.
We have only recently bought this SS Camaro blind from the States, just some photos and a short video of it driving. We do know the sellers ( Trade ) though, but not well. I was going through their stock list, bleary eyed early one morning and this beast had literally only just been listed. Mailed them straight away for more details and knew I had to move fast, so bought it within the hour. I asked them twice if there was any History or paper work with it and they said No......
Well, imagine our surprise and delight, when on opening a large cardboard box that was sitting on the floor behind the drivers seat, to see it was absolutely Full of invoices, shop manuals etc etc !!
The car was advertised with coming with a lot of new / used spares and another hood, we really didn’t expect these to arrive, but the spares were neatly packed in the trunk and the spare hood wrapped in card and two sets of keys.
The sellers Severly under sold this Camaro.
We were fully expecting average paint work, plus lots of issues, but the the beast is simply stunning. Paintwork is absolutely gorgeous, the body is arrow straight, it’s been superbly detailed, stainless steel fuel tank, Grant steering wheel, Hurst shifter, a lovely original black interior, with an interior light that still works, fitted with many NOS / new parts, inc lights, chrome, the list is endless. And the noise, It sounds like Armageddon.
The Passengers door doesn’t lock ATM, the trunk is missing it’s mat, a slight leak from a PAS hose and a few other jobs to do.
Initial thoughts were to build a Wiggins Teape / Malcolm Gartlan Racing Camaro replica, but this car is just Way too good to do that to it.
We have established it’s original supplying dealers.
The previous owner has spent an absolute $$ fortune on what is a really nice rot free car. We have his address, so will be writing to him to find out more.
Waiting on some dry weather and we will run it down for an MOT.

Hi John
Sorry no it’s not Phil and that’s not Mick in the back ground
Cheers Tim
Hi Tim,Thanks for the reply , I know that was a bit of a odd post but Phil has a Falcon ,the same colour and wheels ,not sure if his is a 64 or 65, He's taken it to Le Mans a couple of times and your photo looks like Reims so put 2x2 together, He's had his on the market recently so had thought you may be the new owner, sold my 64 Falcon Sprint 289 with a period Paxston super charger last summer, another one i should have kept, Sorry no it’s not Phil and that’s not Mick in the back ground
Cheers Tim
