What a joke .after ordering the food myself on the new big touch screen thingy i waited for 14 minutes , which i had to chase , for an order of 13 quid earlier. Only go there once a month as a little treat for the kids. Shambles.
Poor management right there.
Sadly the kids dont much like gbk , yet...

Ha, guilty. i did dress down suitably for the trip to blend in! A sports direct disguise in the form of a cycling jersey.

Perhaps they didn’t like the look of you?

13 minutes in a busy place like that I would have thought is normal, timing the food less so!

I had to wait that long once for a pair of fresh double cheeseburgers, was during a half term at lunch time. it happens.

What bothers me about the touch screen thing is you can't add extra sauce or bits like extra onions/gherkins. So i have to do it at the normal counter.

Go at the right time and they're very quick. the new sytem is kind of odd, feels alot like you're stood around waiting in argos for an item.

you shouldn't have to wait 14 minutes, but 14 minutes isn't exactly a long time is it? the new ordering system works great and abroad as well.

Agreed it would be good to be able to add stuff as well as take it away. I like the new ordering system. Rather that than be served something sat around for ages. All they need to do now is improve the fries for the signature range rather than just put them in a black box

It's fine if you are waiting for a meal in a restaurant

Waiting 14 mins at Donalds is a joke.

I did watch a video where the Epic Meal Time guys went to italy and to McDs. the staff instantly dismissed them at the counter and said they have to order on the touch screen (which they could change the language to english).

great idea and also lazy of the staff at the same time.

he could ask for a refund and go elsewhere, i mean no one forced him to wait.

He should go to Alton towers 2.5 hours for a ride, 1 hour to buy tickets, 45 minutes to order food, all after paying to get in.

How long before “proper” restaurants have touch screens in the table to make your order?

Wetherspoon's is great, table service for drink and food and my local one very quick. I think it is something that would work with big chains.

We are in a Korean restaurant in Covent Garden last month and we ordered everything from an iPad on the table. It came correctly and promptly. Table was also like a giant touch screen display as well.

They are not the most hygienic of things though. Use your hands to make your order on a screen where someone has just finished using it after wiping their ass in the loo and not washing their hands. Then eat your food with your hands

Say it arrived after 5 minutes, what had you planned to do with the 9 minutes you had saved?

Don't like the new ordering system and won't go into a McDonalds anymore. The idea that it is fast food is a joke as their new policy is to produce to order so nothing is off the shelf except fries which are usually cold by the time you get them. Still using Burger King but for how much longer..........

I believe you can. There's a customise button. Never used it tho, the benefit of smaccies is speed -
adding extra onions or whatever just dilutes the "will it be a good one or a st one?" Lottery. OK custom guarantees fresh burger, but it also increases the chance of cold chips.
