Camaro ZL1 in UK

Hi Guys,

looking for some advise here.

I have a ZL1 Camaro currently living overseas, I have been out of UK for a few years now ( 10 ) and wanted to know how easy it is for me to bring a modified camaro back.

Car has pulley / Headers / Cam / exhaust / Meth kit makes 660 whp - realistically will I be able to get it through an MOT when it gets to UK? or should i return it to stock before shipping?

not sure how many people run hi lift cammed cars in UK.

You need a SVA test on the car

I love to hear a cammy engine in tick over

My ears say they sound fantastic

Good news is my 06 Z06 doesnt need a SVA test apparently.

The C6 Z06 won't need the IVA test but will need to pass MOT..

If it's cammed and has No cats on, it won't pass. Same as mine, I did have to get a catted Xpipe in from the states for it to pass.. If you've got ARH headers on you can borrow mine for the MOT.

With the ZL1, I saw one at a used dealership in Croydon, was so close to trading my C6z in for it.

They do all the changes and get it road legal, very legit. Only headache I had with them was the fact of switching it over to IVA standards. Car looks stty with only 2 centre lights on instead of the 4.

Yeah brother in law owns an MOT garage so could possibly get it through ok as it is wink wink!

The Camaro is going to be a pain i think, I wouldnt swap a Z06 for a ZL1 having owned two Zl1s and a Z06 at the same time the corvette has a different feel.
