Plenty of trucks have been registered this way for years, just get a plate/sticker made up to this effect. Fill in the application form & register it. I usually advise against it as with later model year trucks they can weigh around 3200kg with a full tank of fuel & a driver leaving insufficient payload to even go shopping!

I've seen home made stamped plates that look terrible, I had a company make me up a replica of the original door sticker for my truck but with the addition of a train weight for towing as American vehicles don't come with this & it's a legal requirement to have or technically you shouldn't be towing anything.
