Not surprised by that. What about contacting someone like Russ Pepper at RnR Hot Rod Imports. Russ brings in containers of parts and has a shipping agent in USA. Get the part shipped to his shipping agent and he puts in his next container coming over. Would be a lot cheaper way of doing it, but a lot slower of course.

i only inquired as a couple of years back i contacted this guy and he was'nt doing anymore!
so when i came across it again i thought it would be interesting just to see!

It did make me laugh laugh

Which was handy as ive just had to remove and strip my heater box again as the matrix has developed a small leak!
Done all this a year ago! had the core pressure tested , blasted and painted all the flaps etc,
Was all fine, but not now, its a tiny weep, buts its there, got a new one coming.

the joys of old cars , ces't la vie ..................

The Chally finally can be driven!
got all the brakes done, done the headliner, sorted the roof mounted seat belts, had to spend ages cleaning the belts, all done now,
finished the floor insulation, and completely felted the whole floor, old school Boyriven Felt, done pretty much everything i can to insulate the cabin,
If all goes to plan should be back on the road for July??

Very interesting. Was this effort, the insulating, about sound or temperature or ?

I ask because while I don't know much about the layering or materials that are not visible in the cabin, I do sometimes think about banishing sound. Or the unwanted sounds, I should say.

Actually, I do know about Dynamat. What caught my eye was his mention of felt. And the words about covering everything possible.

The people I know that have done the felt or similar route do it because they don't want the more 'permanent' solution that Dynamat is, i.e on a very original car (as long as its got no water ingress leaks!) as felt or similar can be easily removed/replaced.

I Doo Doo 'd the whole floor first, which is a UK version of the hugely over priced Yanks stuff!
Have no idea whether its as good/bad as the yank stuff, but we've used it before and for heat insulation worked pretty well, my chally has two
very big Flow Master boxes that get stupid hot, hence this stuff!
The Felt just works! tried and trusted.................
All bit not cheap!
These old cars are bangey, rattley, so reducing the noise in the cabin results in something thats just plain nicer to use!

Interesting
The guy who was doing my '32 was looking into swapping over to the UK Dodo stuff, because of the ever worsening exchange rate and the cost of using Dynamat.

Yeah dodo is easy to get hold of, there service via E Bay is very good,
we used Dynamat on the E's , i guess coz its trendy, and people like what it looks like, however once the carpet is fitted???

Whether the insulation , heat shielding is better, ive no idea.
Hence DoDo for heat and top spec felt for sound!
Ive also fully lined the bulkhead/firewall with dodo and felt backed hardura.
Ive also fully felted the rear inner wheel tubs, the cabin/trunk partition which was originally just a cut piece of bargboard, so cut a new one from 5mm Hardboard and Hardura'd the trunk side and felted the cabin side!

Dont think the old girl will goes as well as i did, but we may be able to hear the CD player now laugh

It will be much nicer to drive though, these old things were horrifically poor in terms of NVH when they were new, so an extra 50lbs of sound deadening added to stop the the things vibrating is no bad thing in my book.
I've been in a mate of a mate's '66 Chevy Impala out in California, that he fully Dynomatted the thing with tons of the stuff, and its a lovely thing to cruise around in, and feels much closer to a 80's era car than a 60's in terms of NVH........(goes quite well too with the 460hp 383 stroker, roller cam, SBC laugh)

Just the screen to go!
Glazzing these things that should have a cloth roof, aint easy when you dont have a cloth roof!
The clips that retain the moudings sit a tad higher, i'd read about this but did'nt really believe it??
The Vinyls were actually stretched and stapled to the roof metal! Some staple gun lol

Anyway the rear glass is in, my youngest daughter reluctantly gave me a hand, it did make her bum go !laugh
