Anyone running a late'ish Challenger ?

If you want some back seat space you need a Challenger. Mustang has a little less space but useable. Camaro back seats are almost useless. And that was a shame for me since I love the look of the new Camaro. Went to look at a ZL1 which was gorgeous and drove fantastic, but so little space in the back. Might as well have been a Corvette. (Would like to try a C7).
Not convinced you're right there vis-a-vis mustang/Camaro rear legroom (though both are pathetic and the challenger is by far the best)MuscleSaloon said:
Here is the AutoTrader link for the red one pictured ….

The rear spoiler is gloss as well. It has also lost the stock exhausts somewhere along the way.
Here lies the biggest problem - finding a Scat Pack car already in the UK, particularly a stock one that has not been not messed with.

There's a lot of weird stuff on that car. All the logos on the seats are non-OEM - not sure what they are but they ain't factory. All the glossy black bits on the exterior are odd - should be satin black - cheap and nasty (and completely unnecessary) cat-back exhaust - missing badges - suspect wheels. I'm sure it drives OK, but it has been dicked around with.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Honestly. Spend a little more and buy a Hellcat. I have driven my mates 2017 392 Scat Pack a few times. Once you have experienced the waft of effortless power and torque. You just can't go back. I don't use mine as a daily and I was out in mine yesterday. Awesome piece of kit. Love it too bits.

Would love to own one at some point for sure and I might re-visit my man maths. But it is hard for me to justify the extra cost over and above what I already have especially to cover probably 3000 miles a year in at the very most. SRT Hellcat said:

Awesome they most certainly are - RedEye even more so.In my own personal experience, a well-driven Scat Pack with a few mods will stomp a poorly driven Hellcat on a drag strip.
I would dearly love a new (wide body) Hellcat - but the "spend a little more" is at least 20 grand and that's not so "little" to a lot of us.

I've given it some thought over the last few days and although yes I really would love a Destroyer Grey Hellcat I can't justify the significant extra cost right now. Going to check out a few Challengers in the coming weeks and see what I think. Still wouldn't rule out a facelift 5.7 car with the right spec if they appeal enough when I get to take a proper look.In my own personal experience, a well-driven Scat Pack with a few mods will stomp a poorly driven Hellcat on a drag strip.

This makes sense to me with one caveat. The 5.7L versions of FCA cars using this platform (300c/Charger/Challenger) are more 'cruisers' than 'bruisers'.375hp sounds adequate, but remember - it's propelling a >4000lb vehicle. Consequently it does not provide the same kick-up-the-jacksie acceleration and overall stump-pulling torque of the larger capacity hemi cousins without some quite expensive modifications. If your down with that, they are great looking, interesting and novel cars to own (in the UK). When buying used, research "Hemi Tick" and be aware of that phenomenon and it's potential consequences.

Has anyone viewed the grey 500 mile 2018 SRT for sale in Essex @ £65,000 ?
Been tempted ! There's been a couple of ads for a grey one in Essex with that sort of mileage, not sure if it's the same car at the different locations ? One ad had the plates covered, the other did not.
OK, well have now had a look at a few Challengers. Love the shape, the whole retro muscle styling. But overall its not a clear switch from the Mustang at the moment !
Width in the rear is well up on the S550, but the legroom is nowhere near as good as I thought it might be. The trunk is huge.
From what I've seen so far in the UK 5.7's and Hellcats are relatively available, but far fewer naturally aspirated 6.4 cars. A lot of reviews are comparing the 5.7 Challenger to the EcoBoost Mustang which is a bit of a shocker ! So going from the 5.0 S550 to the 375hp Challenger with its extra weight may not be the best idea, pretty much as Matt said.
Matt - can you stick me a nice Scat Pack on a boat pretty please !

I've now owned and driven a 2017 Challenger Hellcat for a good number of months now. Whilst it's more of a stretch to buy it's been everything I hoped it would be. It's also a manual which is quite rare.
It's not daily but I've covered some miles including some cross Europe driving and it's been fantastic. Comfortable, effortless performance as you can imagine. I've got some other interesting cars that are more capable dynamically, however, the car gets the most attention (positive) and draws so much interest. It's actually really good in the corners considering it's size and heft, very positive, nice steering response and the brakes very powerful (as you'd hope). On a trip recently down to the N24 it was an Autobahn monster and even had truck drivers in Belgium diving for cover :-) And comfortable passengers too.
The quality is excellent, no squeaks or rattles. It's got so much character, and a rare sight on the roads which is refreshing these days and what attracted me to the car in the first place. I did look the Scat Pack version and also compare the Hennessey Mustang but in the end the Destroyer grey Hellcat was always the first choice!

There has been a post on Facebook suggesting that a Carfax check on this Scat Pack shows it a total loss in the US in 2017 ….
That would have my alarm bells ringing. There’s nothing stopping you doing your own Carfax check on the car to know for sure. I did this before I bought my Hellcat, always piece of mind.I bought mine from Luke at Clive Sutton in London. Very painless sale. Maybe worth speaking to them? They have a healthy amount of Dodge Challengers always going through and probably could help source.
Hi people,
Just returned from America and have been seeing the Challenger/Mustangs everywhere, watching the TGT episode and seeing the feature on here about the Scat pack car has picqued my interest.
Obviously i can do the research into running one but ive got 2 questions;
1. has anyone run one during the winter - just a quick change onto something more wet weather focused tyres or are they mainly dry weather cars (stupid question i know)
2. How easy are they to resell after as im tempted to own one for say 6 months then 'move on'
Thanks

That is one bad-fast 392!
No blower, no nitrous shot - stock crank, rods and pistons - so just cam, porting, mapping and beefing-up the rear end - and still $20k cheaper than a Hellcat.
