I was wondering what other performance V8’s are available other than the usual Charger/ Challenger, Camaro, Mustang & Corvette That continues the RWD tradition in saloon or coupe form
Probably looking at nearly new.
I have family moving to the US next year, so we will be visiting which will give me a better idea of what’s on the market.
A few pointers would be good.

Cadillac CTS-V ? Pontiac G8 ?

I’d start with the GM, Ford and Dodge web sites

Have a look at the Chevrolet SS. Basically Camaro drivetrain in a saloon. Comes with lots of kit.

Although if I was looking for something other than the normal musclecars a CTS-V wagon would be my no1 choice.

Are you looking for advice for what car they should buy for you to use when you visit?

Cheaper to rent whatever you want when you visit.

All the big 3 have V8 car offering , just look up any car finding website if you want to compare. There are also v8 trucks from just about everyone who sells trucks. Korean, Japanese and German car manufacturers also sell V8's here.

Gas (here in Texas) was $2.09 for a gallon of unleaded @ my last fill up.

In which case their best bet is stick to the more normal stuff as it'll be easier for servicing and parts and more desirable if the were to eventually sell it.

Anything out of the ordinary could be hard work.

If you're going to go fishing the other side of the Pond, perhaps it's worthwhile to find something that's just a bit special.

A couple of examples:

. . . Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 (with the Voodoo V8)

. . . Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE

. . . Cadillac ATS-V (twin-turbo V6 with 464 hp and AWD)

. . . Chevrolet Colorado ZR2

. . . Honda Ridgeline (2017 and newer only; easily upgraded in the US with OEM and aftermarket bits and bobs)

Zero point buying a Chevy SS when the VXR8 is already here. Same with Pontiac G8, GXP etc.

CTS-V is about the only viable option IMO. Ford stuff sucks. Zero performance options not mentioned above. Dodge you have already listed.

If looking for nearly new you'd be restricted to the 5.7 Hemi, the 6.4L SRT8 hasn't been available in the US for a few years now.

Luckily we can still buy them brand new down under!
