Why so high?

Amazing really..........Mitsubishi's Charisma (Carisma?) - the very opposite of the car's name........a car so bland and characterless the name sticks with it for being so wrong!........think about some of these names - Hillman Hunter (rusted so badly it one was always 'hunting' for scrapyards to dump them) - Hillman Minx, (naughty, saucy little car - always getting you in trouble.......) - Singer Chamois (wiped out by unreliability)

I ran a Charisma for years,
Fabulously reliable 4 door family car
Ironically Charisma was the one thing it never had


But at the weekend I had a 57’ TBird, a 69’ Vette
And a 67’ Sunbeam Tiger,
So we could break the monotony!

Big lesson here guys, Don’t get divorced if your in your early 50’s
Totally F—-ked me! Lol

57 and not married, but have been shacked up in sin for over thirty years. Am I doing this right...?

Looking forward to ogling a few old yanks at the NEC show on Friday, I definitely need a ‘fix’. I can guarantee that as soon as I get home her indoors will say “what have you bought then?” before I’m through the door!

Been driving boring bangers for years but in the knowledge that i had some toys in the garage for play time.

Like you ended up with a empty toy cupboard after the the 2nd divorce when she took what the 1st wife had left me :grumpy

The cars were my thing but I was putting together a retirement fund really,
Shooting was my escape,
But after 25 years living with a total nutter
I just couldn’t stand it , and when the kids went off to university that’s was it!!
Ended up with nowt
But now I’m as happy as Larry most of the time
We’ll at least with my home life,
My second wife’s a polar opposite!!
Love her to the moon and back!!

1st divorce at 28 ,2nd one at 45 then walked straight into a 10 year relationship

with what i thought was the right one until she went off with the owner of the local garden centre,

now if i bring a woman home when she says ,well that's different what she really means is ,That's got to go ,

We’ve managed to muddle through but of late helping 3 kids get on the housing market has properly caned us!
Factor in our ages and we’ve really run of of time,

The one thing that always puzzles me is all our kids Earn tons more that we do,
The son in law is a vet and is on 85k plus
My son is a content producer for multi national companies
And on 65 plus,
Our daughters are a HR manager and a phycologist
And also get well paid , but every time we go out we always seem to get lumbered with the bill!!
Why is that???

These 2 cars are a prime examples on how mundane overpriced Mustang notchback's are . ,

You can't park the GTO in the same street as the Mustang, like comparing a TR6 to a E Type but the TR6 is more expensive ,

makes no sense ,plus the GTO has so much more street cred and more exotic appeal compared to the Ford.

Trouble is the Mustang is the safe bet with UK buyers ,I know i said it before ,it's the American equivalent of the MG B unless a Shelby or 427

Cobra Jet. No one gets up in the morning and says lets go shopplng for a better value for money Cutlass, Catalina or Firefire instead

preferring a Camaro and the Mustang and paying a premium price for a inferior car, This would mean stepping out of their comfort zone.

Shame really because that's where the bargain are and more individuality .

its really quite normal!
the Bank of mum and dad is very much in business!
we've got friends that have sold the house and seriously down sized to help the kids get houses,
its a nightmare getting a gaff sorted these days,

Just got back from the Members Meeting practise at Goodwood, busy as usual with lots of lovely eye candy ,

eclectic mix of cars but mainly Jags and very quick MK1 Cortina's,

Only one yank ,a white with blue stripes notch back Mustang,

first letters on the plate was EOL, not your old car Graeme .???

Yep, hideous contraptions.

Not a particular lover of Corvairs.......but it has to be said GM took the VW idea of a flat 4 engine and stuffed it up the ass-end of the car......with one big difference.......being a flat 6 banger (with a turbo, albeit rudimentary I'm guessing).........I have to say.......despite the Corvair (and most other rear engined cars having handling fault) it out Karman Ghia's a VW.......and looks far better IMHO. Footnote. Porshe eventually got the rear engined concept right!
