.don't Contach owners have a similar issue and generally reverse with half their body out of the car....?
Yes it is quite commonplace to sit with your bum on the wide cill section of the Countach with the scissor door up of course so that you can reverse the car with greater visibility. You are not going to have that luxury with the Mustang. Edited by roscobbc on Sunday 19th March 20:40

This was for sale last year, also listed on FB for £19k
Do like the look of it although it's in Devon and not sure about the paint etc.

Maybe same seller trying his luck for a little bit more on C&C,
Rat look patina paintwork works well and doesn't look rusty but difficult to tell on the photo's.

I don't like those larger wheels at all, I get why some do but to me they spoil the overall look of a car completely. Get some 15 inch Torque Thrusts on it, quick!
In amongst the Mustangs on c&c I've just noticed this pair of RHD soft tops, a '71 and a '72, as I've said I don't really want a rag top but it must be unusual to see two right hookers for sale at the same time...
https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1363518
https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1482450 (dash looks a mess where another stereo has been fitted)
I had a look at this '73 'breadvan' at Stoneleigh back in 2019, it looked very nice in the metal, but as much as I like the shape the rearward view when reversing in or out of the garage must be minimal...

There's not a big list of post 1966 stuff I like either, what there is is all the mega expensive stuff....
I like the 'plain Jane' '69s / '70s too but they hardly ever come up for sale and I've only ever seen one at a show, most examples from these two years that are advertised seem to be Mach 1s or Boss 302s...
'73 Buick Lesabre, can't be many of these in the UK, a bit more 'Streets Of San Francisco' than 'Kojak' in appearance... the front end is a lot more restrained than most '70s yanks...

I prefer the hardtop to the 'Sportsroof' breadvan with the '71 to '73 Mustangs anyway, at least there's a chance of being able to see something out the back when reversing...

I quite liked my 71' Mach one, proper product of it time, mine had a full custom paint, rolling banners, rebel flags ,the works, full draylon red trime, twin glass sunroofs etc....................................
would go sideways at a touch of the loud peddle, but i reality it was a rusted turd, and that was 1981 ish??
still great fun though.....................
and drove light years better than the 68's
Newsatten is on the button summing up the 71' to '73 'breadvans' - that one of his seems vaguely familiar (did it do the show circuits) - even though larger and heavier than Mustangs before it (and after) it had better front/rear balance and was better placed to put the power down than earlier cars......mine, with its 429 SCJ lump, C6 and factory 4.11 detroit locker would naturally light-up the rugs in 1st. Also changing-up in to second. And on a dry tarmac surface would easily 'chirp' its 295/50 BFG's going in to third. But it was like the current Camaro inside - similar in terms of driver visibility to being in a 1930's Post Office letter box or Sherman tank looking out of a narrow 'slot'. With its dashboard set so high you would have to sit-up really straight in your drivers seat to have a chance of peering-up and over the top of it. Side windows that set at chin level and were too high to rest your arm on........probably a good thing as to reverse-up and see behind (with its virtually horizontal rear window) you needed to use your left arm to lever and prop your body up to try and twist your head around outside the window to see behind you.......and at the same time manage to keep your right foot covering the brake pedal as you attempt to back-up.................don't Contach owners have a similar issue and generally reverse with half their body out of the car....? would go sideways at a touch of the loud peddle, but i reality it was a rusted turd, and that was 1981 ish??

It got PX’d against a XK 140 or the like !
And I brought it from the dealer/restoration business Rapid Motors in Herne Bay
Very long time ago, but I remember it well coz as stated it did have a evil streak and tried to kill me on several occasions
A heavy right foot and it just went sideways
Seriously good fun, but driven sensibly it was nice and quiet refined for a Yank, it had a FMX box which wasn’t Fords finest hour, and a shifter very similar to the ones in a Capri??
Cruise O matic ….., right on brother

While it is a more door version, its a manual and a 409, so would make a great moonshine runner replica
Just need to remove that Hurst sticker from the fender, and sort out some proper wheels for it etc., and remove that horrible air filter unit

A mate of mine use to own that Fury, around 18/20 years ago never seen such a rusty car ,https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1562913
When they took the vinyl roof off they found more rust than roof ,same went for the rest of the bodywork.
He was going to leave the vinyl roof off but had to put a new one on just to hide the filler,
Seen it doing the rounds over the years ,not sure if anyone has ever restored the car properly or just kept patching it up.

buy Pontiacs and Falcons . He emailed the seller to ask what was the 400 engine out of that is fitted now ,
He replied saying it was out of a 74 Firebird so would be down on power compared th a 60's 400,
Admitted it was still a cheap car being quite rare but lost interest in it with that engine fitted

No disrespect intended to Fury owners.......but I've always wondered if first time yank buyers choose a Plymouth Fury because it sounds like its going to be a fast, powerful car with this name?

several board meeting to come up with those names with the Japs being just as bad coming up with names like the Mitsubishi Carisma,
Compare that with Thunderbird,Trans Am,Firebird,Mustang ,Charger,Challenger,Roadrunner .GTO ,Fury ,only in America.

Amazing really..........Mitsubishi's Charisma (Carisma?) - the very opposite of the car's name........a car so bland and characterless the name sticks with it for being so wrong!........think about some of these names - Hillman Hunter (rusted so badly it one was always 'hunting' for scrapyards to dump them) - Hillman Minx, (naughty, saucy little car - always getting you in trouble.......) - Singer Chamois (wiped out by unreliability) several board meeting to come up with those names with the Japs being just as bad coming up with names like the Mitsubishi Carisma,
