Yeah i feel your pain, i'l pop into work early next week and nip up and see a guy on our park who has a couple of late Lambo's, i'l see if he's any ideas?
his business is top end cars repairs, and always got leary toys hanging about !
Worth asking ...............................................................
Good news on the Mini! right on time with lockdown being semi lifted, we can go out from Monday
And i suppose join the queue with me, Cappo and about 5000 others buyers !
Finally heard back from NH ! in stock and a good price, should have them next week at some point ............................

Slightly different tack to what's been discussed recently, but I'm looking to dabble in a Yank or two that I can buy, do a little bit of work on and then enjoy for a bit, but they'll need to be sold again afterwards. With that in mind, what's the view on a late '60s Buick Riviera - desirable or not?
Lovely cars ,quite understated more Facel Vega than yank. I would love another one, mine was a 63 with Arizona sun bleached paintwork ,way before the satin paint came into fashion.
There's a white one in Warwickshire that's been bumped today on C&C , It's been for sale for along time
don't know why as there's not many about, may be a good time to have a cheeky bid.
From memory I'm sure it was on at £13.5k at the time, I'd say it's well worth a look now, if I had the room I'd be on it already.

The white one with no proper pics? . mine was a 63 with Arizona sun bleached paintwork ,way before the satin paint came into fashion.

I've asked for some more info on the green '69 on there, it's not far from me but he's said he wants a quick sale so I'll be throwing the fivers at him one at a time if I decide to follow up on it!

Cheers Guys some interesting stuff there .......................................
And thats one of the reasons American Muscle is so popular, Loads of Great looking cars, the noise, the Theater of the things, and like RR said, as far as the yanks go its History no doubt!
In its way a Genuine L88 Vette is about as rare as a Genuine GT40 , give or take .................................................
And while all these cars share a silhouette , thats were it ends, yeah Joe public may not be in the know , but words like COPO, Cammer/Hemi etc are the touch paper to skyhigh prices, and no there's no sign of it changing anytime soon
Ye i suppose in a more humble way it's like comparing a 1.6 Sierra with a Cosworth Sierra or 1.3 Cortina with the Lotus Cortina, And thats one of the reasons American Muscle is so popular, Loads of Great looking cars, the noise, the Theater of the things, and like RR said, as far as the yanks go its History no doubt!

I was unaware that certain C2 's were worth that kind of money, as you say they share the same silhouette as a 327 or 427 car,
I'd be quite happy with one of those and bank the rest but i suppose i'm missing the point.
I think with summer and lock down being lifted i've got a short window to get some cars gone and reassess it all .

Late 60's Riv's are not really on the desirable lists.....1963-65 are the 3 classic shape Riv years that are seen as desirable, and yet, even these are still cheap compared to many other types. But, '66 onwards Riv's are not that sought after.

like it hasn't worked, I think i saw the green 69 Riv somewhere , in a drive way next to a van, not a good ad or photo's.
The one that was sold at Silverstones auction is also on C&C ,he's not being greedy profit wise and does look
in stunning condition, ready to go for the coming season if there's going to be any shows that is.

You really have got a good memory, the previous owner tagged me on FB when I saw it there and he has sent me a load of pics from when he owned it and sure enough the pic you describe is there, next to a tatty caravan. He has a very faded Imp next to it too.He said the engine blew when he had it and he replaced that (didn't rebuild the bust one). He has lots of pics of burnouts but I don't know which engine that's on. He also said it's a £10k car max in his view. It seems to have had a lot of basic stuff done (new brakes/pipes/hoses etc) and the paint is new(ish). But if it's not going to be easy to sell on when I'm ready for a change then that goes against it really. Shame, it's quite a decent-looking car (imo!).

Always thought that a interior re-trim by a UK specialist in quality leather in exactly the same style would make one of these really classy. Interesting that these could be had with twin 4 barrel carbs........
Yep, 425ci Wildcat motor.....the Buick Nailhead was a torque monster, especially in dual quad 425 Wildcat form.A 425 Nailhead makes a lightweight Model A Coupe move along the road quite nicely

Somewhere in the world of You Tube there's a stunning 63/65 can't remember which year now ,The guy has done a tasteful customcome restoration in black, he's made in my opinion a lovely job of the interior making it a little more up to date without spoiling it.
Haven't a clue what the title is ,may have a look in a minute as wouldn't mind watching it again.

Any C2 is expensive - later 67 big block 427/436 hp is generally 50% more expensive than 'cooking' small block and in to high 5 figure/low 6 figure sum for a 'proper' one. '68 and onwards C3 (remembering chassis/engine etc is exactly the same as late C2) will be between 25% and as much as 50% lower than equivalent C2 (although prices are starting to get closer.......)
I'd still have a '65 or '66 big-block over a '67 or any C3.....knock-offs, side pipes, teakwood steering wheel, leather interior, tints (head rests if a '66)..... in Nassau Blue with Bright Blue interior please aeropilot said:

Is that Turnballs Roadster next to the Nailhead or is that taken in the States.

that makes room for the 66/69 cars,Sounds like you can do any spanner work so less of a problem for you and could turn it around
and make a car of it and a profit hopefully to finance the next one. If close worth a look .

'Gentlemans' 'big cube front' wheel drive muscle cars - '66 onwards Olds Toronado
And '67 onwards Cadillac Eldorado
Wow ! Loving the green Eldorado , That's really lovely in that colour,And '67 onwards Cadillac Eldorado
Edited by roscobbc on Friday 9th April 22:26
Often wondered what they drive like with the front wheel drive, Seen a few cheap convertible advertised
and been tempted , a bit boss Hog but just thought it a bit of fun for no money then i realize it's just me that will be in it
and i come to my senses. The Olds Toronado a quirky thing ,i assume it will drive much the same as the Eldorado.
Just been watching Bangers & Cash and the owner of the Auction just bought himself a beautiful Bentley S3 Mulliner/ Parkward
Chinese headlight Continental alone with a Standard Steel S3 Bentley, instead of running them through the auction,
Perks of the trade .Not yank but knowing your a Rolls/Bentley man thought i'd mention it.
Don’t get me started on S series Bentleys, I love ‘em!
The Toronado and Caddy in those pics are just gorgeous, I think even now the Toronado still looks futuristic. Those of a certain age might recall the Gerry Anderson series ‘UFO’ from 1969 / 70, two Toronados were featured in a couple of episodes being driven down country lanes near Elstree on the wrong side of the road to make them look even more chic than they already were.
