Nice friendly lot and tried to sell a couple more cars for me one being The Ray Mumford custom Shadow .
Ray Mumford, that's a blast from the past!Well remember French Connection Mustang and the mural's he did on the Bullitt Mustang that Street Machine did the floppy 45rpm record of it that they gave away in the magezine.
vintage Rolls in sepia on light gold with the Henley Temple Island gardens in the background,
I sold it to a guy from Florida who put it in his museum,
The car got repatriated when it was put on American E-Bay,
The guy who got it now used to work for or with Mumford and i think he has bought most of the cars
including Bullitt,The Enforcer and the French Connection ,
There are photo's on the internet of him displaying them as a tribute to Ray,

Has your father-in-law still got the Shadow ,really nice early cars prices have at last seem to have picked up.

Father in law has long passed over. The car got T Boned and written-off (although later repaired) - this was over 20 years ago and it did him a favour as the insurance pay-out was better than resale prices at the time......

Hythe Road is just north of Old Oak Common railway depot in North West London on the north side of the canal, technically it's probably in the parish of Willesden. Not that far away was Wood & Pickett's premises in Park Royal and Harold Radford's place in King Street, Hammersmith. I used to live in Cromwell Road at the west end of King St and walked past the Radford place on the way to work (at Old Oak), but by then it had become a yank car dealer, often with a Firebird or Camaro inside behind the glass. Radford worked on many Rolls Royces in their time, along with customising Mini Coopers and fitting the highly customised interiors to the batch of thirty three road going Mk1 GT40s. Both Radford and W&P used the open grassland between Old Oak Common and Wormwood Scrubs for photo shoots before sending cars back to their owners.
Well at least I mentioned yanks somewhere in that lot!
I think we are pushing our luck well at least i am,I do remenber looking into Radfords but wouldn'tWell at least I mentioned yanks somewhere in that lot!

be able to find it again even if they were still there, Trying to think of the American Car Sales that you are referring to,
I remember Cliff Davis in Goldhawk Rd close to where Straight Eight was, also The American Car Centre in Kingston,

Nah, Harry Potter, lol........................... which generally i find when compared to car tv shows to be much more believable
So bored ! 3 weeks now , seems like 3 months lol.............. i really do need to get out for a blast ...............
Sorry false alarm with D-Max, they mentioned working on a Challenger but not one in sight.
To many of those yanky build shows, Got time for Hand Built Hot Rods as he's won awards at Sema with some
nice builds, Can't be easy what you are going though but driving the Challenger is a great goal to aim for,
Sounds 2 weeks maximum, you never know may have the car going by then as soon as my go fund me comes in.,

Use to know all the back streets of London really well for a none Londoner as i would come up almost every other weekendhttps://www.google.com/maps/place/Carpet+Cleaning+...
Leave my ex wife in Oxford Street with my credit card ,well worth the cost so i can go garage hopping in and around Wandsworth
Shepherds Bush and Mayfair and down the Mews window shopping at all those classic car emporiums. Most now sadly gone and
turned into the the most expensive smallest terrace houses in the world.

Indeed.nice builds
That cammer powered Fairlane is just fantastic, so much want.
Only other show I had any time for was Iron Resurrection, as long before the show was shown on UK TV, I'd seen their first show build in the flesh at the Lonestar Roundup Car Show in Austin, Texas back in 2016, and it was a stunner. Plus Mrs Martin was easy on the eye as well

fastback he built with a 66 Ford/Lotus Indy car motor, The Mustangs on You Tube and i think the Fairlane is to,
Nice guy as well not to shouty shouty for a yank.

Yes, the Indy-Ford Mustang is also fantastic, although the Martini graphics spoil it for me, but otherwise, hell yeah. I hate to think how much that Indy-Ford motor is worth or cost alone, let alone the rest of the cost of that car.....!

Radfords was at 124 King St in Hammersmith, right opposite Edward Evans department store where my Nan worked, I think they moved out c.1970 / 71 (when they became Redford, Freestone & Webb) which is when it became a yank car showroom. It’s quite a famous spot, there is some really good colour news footage on YouTube of Peter Sellers driving a new Redford Cooper S hatchback out of a giant cake for wifey Britt Ekland’s birthday in October ‘65, my Nan remembered it well watching all the fuss from across the road.

I'm sure when i get up to London again i will have a walk around the area, so much easier than driving now with all the traffic that will be aboutRight, off to work now to sit in my loco cab at Cricklewood for several hours perusing the Dodge Charger book that our postie delivered yesterday.....

with lock down being lifted, Sounds like you have a interesting job even if unsociable hours.
Freight train driver, we do a lot of infrastructure based work moving aggregates and other materials about, as well as container traffic.
In other news, I now want a ‘68 or ‘71 style Dodge Charger and a bigger garage, neither of which will come to fruition unless we move house!
Hammersmith - still have family there and visit, but stone me King Street is so busy these days, far more than it was in the ‘80s when I lived there. You used to be able to drive all the way along it in both directions but there are bollards and one way diversions there now.

'68's aren't cheap.....being the most sought after Charger because of Bullitt largely, followed by '69's because of Dukes of Hazard etc.An ugly '71 will be a lot more affordable as far less sought after (apart from one of the only 63 R/T Hemi's built in '71 of course)
That black Charger on Ebay UK mentioned a few days ago, for only £45k is about the cheapest decent '68-70 Charger around at the moment - can't even find one for sale in USA currently that is cheaper than that....with most being around the $100k+ mark now.
When I was over in California back in 2004, I was offered a nice, but not mint, and largely all original '68 440 R/T 4-speed for $11k.....which was about what I was about to sell my Sunbeam-Lotus for, but the Charger was never going to fit in the garage I had back then, plus the then missus didn't like the green colour

I admit the '71s onwards are definitely marmite cars but I like the odd styling....
I know four doors are thought of as two doors too many but if I had the space I'd consider giving this '70 Polara a home, I like the full on triple green combo and a different set of wheels would set it off nicely, don't think I've ever seen one in the flesh but I'd imagine they're quite imposing, to use another old cliche it's a lot of car for the money.... I await a barrage of well aimed p*ss taking for this odd choice when I really should be looking at suitably smaller yanks....!

The period ads makes them look pretty inviting, although they do look better for being the pillarless version....

By the comment" the then missus " i take it she is no longer with you, and no doubt cost you money in the bargain,
The Charger at $11 K would have given you almost certainly more pleasure and if still owning the car today
a nice big earn while driving it, If you analyse that statement and us guys didn't have what we have in our pants
just think what a better life we would have lived in a woman free zone driving our now valuable collection of muscle cars
around.

There's another Charger on ebay at the moment at £85k, it's getting bonkers. Came across this one this morning, a '68 that's been stashed away for thirty years and it's not a black 'Bullitt' one or a General Lee replica for a change, just a nice 'cooking' Charger in period trim....

That's lovely....and a rare colour combo as well. Just needs a good clean and a recommission, otherwise leave it alone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZEVdgpVsVc
