Same here, the wafty two and four doors up to about '73 tick lots of boxes for me. If I had the room my search for the next classic would have been over months ago. Just been reading the Brooklands book on Impalas, 1965 was a peak sales year with 1,068,614 of them sold, that's a seriously impressive rate to be churning out big family cars.
I still keep looking at those two blue Impalas for sale on c&c but it's no good, no matter how much I wish they'd fit my garage the idea is a non starter. I like the rear lights on the LHD '65 but the RHD '66 car is the pillarless version which looks better overall, to me it does anyway. There's a classic car storage place not that far from me where it could be kept if I bought it, but it would be an extra expense every month and a bit of a drag having to drive over there just to have a play with it or take it out, I'd much rather have it in my own garage.
Moving on, this C3 looks nice for the asking price but it's a 700 mile round trip to go and look at it....

Odd that it says it runs great but needs trailering away....
The 65 Impala rear lights were one year only, shame as you say those 3 round rear lights look so much better than the 66 onwards,I still keep looking at those two blue Impalas for sale on c&c but it's no good, no matter how much I wish they'd fit my garage the idea is a non starter. Had a 65 coupe in washed out yellow ,well that's what i call it, Had a 454 fitted by the previous owner ,
didn't think it was much than a small black ,Paid £3,500 and a 65 Wagon which cost me £2K ,mot'd and taxed,
Presentable condition, Glad i made a bit of a pig of myself back then , Oh forgot to mention that the coupe was a SS which originally
had a 396 fitted,OUCH
Either of those C3's on "THE MARKET" any good to you, there only in Oxford,
Can't remember seeing a C3 on their auction then they get 2 at the same time, like buses
Would love either of those C3s on the market but the blue ‘71 is already at £25k with another week to go so that’s me stuffed! It‘s not always possible to test drive something in an auction anyway which I’d be wary of.
My PC crashed this afternoon while I was perusing eBay and c&c for yanks, it’s probably a sign.... oh well another ten hour job at Cricklewood tonight armed with tea, biccies and the Brooklsnds road test book on Impalas.....

Thats a fair old run, plus its probably still got salt spray from the trip over! so it will need the paperwork sorting, plus i will need a proper going through before its safe to use, Brakes on these things are notorious for leaking/sticking/stuck etc,
And so called sunny Florida , is actually sub tropical, cars there rust as fast as Italian Submarines ! Ive seen E's and Big Healey's that have come from Florida , they just have well spent there life on the beach at Dover,
inside out ,found out later that it had been parked under beach house with no garage doors right on the beach
lucky bought it cheap enough to get a small profit before i got to involved.
Tin worm USA style lol.....................
Mustang on E Bay @ 27000 large.......................................................
The mind boggles, the amount of labour to repair this mess would be eyewatering, and without a body jig almost impossible,
The price does include loads of panels, but really?

It seems the price it is is based purely on the basis of it being an original factory Highland Green GT..... (but not a S-code one)
Probably easier to just order a Dynacorn replacement bodyshell, and flog the selection of replacement panels supplied with the car....but not at 27k.
Madness.

Not Mustang related but my mate had a look at the Gallardo and we got spark but no petrol, has 2 fuel pumps and
says unlikely both pumps would go together so at least one bank should run, any ideas ?
There's an absolutely cracking '63 Galaxie 500 just gone up for sale on FB, in the American Cars UK group. I'd be all over something like that if I wanted another toy; sorry, I *always* want another toy, I meant, if I had time and space for another toy!! At the moment I can only really consider small projects which I can sort out and resell reasonably quickly, and I doubt there is a lot of money left in the Galaxie without at least a full paint job, which I'd have to pay someone to do.

It says it's in Chichester now.
I have come to the conclusion that this is really a great thread. The guys who are on here seem to actually be 100% 'on' all the worthwhile cars that are A. currently 'on the market' and B. those that have recently been 'on the market' and C. what prices, locations and other important information they were priced at.
Kinda wish I was selling my Vette and able to have all this assistance in looking at something else.
That '63 Galaxie sure would look nice in the OEM paint and with an XL interior......Oh yes!

There are a few 60s-ish Yanks that I really fancy trying but I'm at 4 cars currently (with three of those permanently on the road, and the 4th could be very easily, for want of a basic service and an MOT) so the only way I can really justify it without selling any of the current ones, which I'm not massively up for at present, is to find something I can do a little bit of work on, play with for a few months, then move on when I find something else. Or sell something!
I'm not very well-versed in what's desirable vs what to run from (hence a lot of my posts on this thread ) and if I go for the "buy it, try it, sell it" option I need to know that I'm not saddling myself with something which will be hard to shift.
You're right though, this thread is a goldmine of knowledge and expertise, one of my favourite threads on PH.

Not sure if this guy is being ambitious or just plain greedy ,Just found the Challenger on the HH Auction results page, It was sold on the 24th March for £28,710 with commission
Now asking £59,500 , I suppose if you don't ask you don't get ,
I can't find it now but you posted a link to a 68 Thunderbird in white a while ago that from memory was around £18,950 .
It's still on E-Bay for £17,500 was sold on the same day at HH as the the Challenger for £10,710 with commission,
Good mark up on the T/bird but crazy one on the Challenger, right result if he pulls it off.
Think with the difference in the retail internet prices compared to trade auction prices might be worth taking a punt
even if you can't drive them, Apart from Mustangs generally auction buyers shy away from yanks must preferring
MG B's Mini Coopers and stuff like that so could use that to your advantage just got to have big balls and a lot of luck.
If one or two problems at least you got some margin to spend a few bob on it ,
Would link the auction results if i knew how to save me writing all this out.

So hard to say, as all these things are interconnected , some times the pump/s dont run till your crank the motor, pump relays, pump shut off, Not Mustang related but my mate had a look at the Gallardo and we got spark but no petrol, has 2 fuel pumps and
