Been busy today again,
Managed to get the lower rear quarter patch panel fitted and fully welded in,
Lower arch section completed and the internal rear drop off all welded together!
Excellent actually achieved some body resto s—t !
Test fitted the rear arch spoiler/spat , fits very nicely,
So we’re now only a month of less from polyester etc,
I never bothered with pics as I’ve been outside and the sun’s been shining so much I didn’t matter where I was I couldn’t get a half decent pic,

Well things have moved on with the GT.
I have done the ride height, camber, castor and toe-in and it now drives nicely.
I also fitteda shroud to the fan, a new instrument voltage regulator, brake switch and front indicators.
She is starting first turn of the key and feels fit.
Might get a chance to fit new trunk seals this weekend.
It is almost a car now.

But mine will get done but at a slightly slower pace!
Does it come up to expectations?

Looks like "Snow White " is still going strong,Owned by a mate of mine local to me,
The engine build almost bankrupted him and then he went and done it all again
with probably the most accurate "2 Lane Backtop " 55 Chevy on the planet ,
He's totally bonkers but that's what our hobby is all about ,bless him,

My old Bird still looks sharpe,
Considering I finished the restoration back in 99
2000 hours in that car !
Trouble was I was young and had a young family so money was tight,
So basically had to refurbish everything as buying parts wasn t an option!
Back then a front or rear quarter was 4000 quid a piece of!
Even back then it cost me a grand to get the rear bumper chromed and that was through back door at London chroming !!
Another busy day !
Started on the right rear , wheel arch is solid but uncovered some filler repairs to a couple of rat holes one in the lower B post and other behind the Spat,
Obviously been there since the seventy’s Ffs!
So chop em out and made up some repair sections,
No the prettiest TBF but strong and solid again
Once epoxied and skimmed with polyester there last another 40 years !
Test fitted the left door , all good,

What I also did last week did was line my garage. Off topic a bit, but this is what I have really been doing (apart from work).
Lat summer I purchased a second hand Ebay building. The price was £12,000 included delivery.
I got someone to build the foundations for the stanchions and erect the frame, then do the floor. I put a planning application in for it too.
It measures 45ft by 30ft and I blocked up to 2m, then used the second hand cladding above.
I put a wood burner in, but the single skin roof made for a chilly winter. The building volume was too much, with 5m at the eaves and no insulation. Got really hot too.
So last week I found some, steels used for sliding doors and hung them from to a height of 2.7m. Then I found a company called Mighty who delivers precut .3mm x 800mm roofing sheets which I used as a ceiling and wall lining. I got about 500m of them for £1800.
It has taken me 2 days but now I have a more insulated building. They went up really quickly, I fixed them with TEK screws. The ceiling panels do not sag at all over 4.5m. I was worried about that.
