Went to my first Goodwood Revival in 2019 and thought it was fantastic, my eyes were out on stalks all day and I thought the mix of vehicles was spot on. Do you think it’s going downhill a bit then?
Highlights for me were seeing three of the Beatles’ customised Cooper Ss up close, likewise racing Masers, Ferraris and pre-war Bentleys and some seriously rare Alfa and Abarth racers.
What aeropilot said------- Only missed one since the first one in 1998,( girlfriend booked a holiday )Could be me perhapsHighlights for me were seeing three of the Beatles’ customised Cooper Ss up close, likewise racing Masers, Ferraris and pre-war Bentleys and some seriously rare Alfa and Abarth racers.
i've been doing it to long,
A little corporate and repetitious but must be hard thinking of new things, spend a long time in the classic car park
zig zagging my round it with my mouth wide open,
Now prefer the Members Meetings, less of a crowd, you can go where you like with no one saying you need this and that
and although i love the 30's,/60's stuff they also have 70's through to the 90's with Le Mans and 80's Touring cars ,a broader mix.
More like what the early Revival was with proper car people there opposed to the Hooray Henry' s who go just to be part of the social set
like Royal Ascot or Henley Regatta, They head straight into the bar for their champagne and strawberries and cream and don't
even watch the racing.
If i had a choice of one or the other would choose the MM every time
Oh I definitely noticed the hooray Henry lot, not the slightest bit interested in the cars, mostly the hipster crowd there to show off their latest batch of beard oil and man buns! I was in heaven though, photographing everything I could and chatting with a few of the owners. Loads of great stuff in the car park too, Espadas, Astons, Ferrari 275GTBs and Dinos etc.
I made a bit of an effort with the period clobber but avoided the tweedy thing by dressing in 1960s cat burglar gear, all in black with matching boots and flat cap. Next time I’ll find a Maserati works team boiler suit and wear that instead
On the way into work this morning I spotted a red C3 Vette outside the local body shop, it was slightly modified in that the pop up headlamps had been replaced with fixed ones inset into the nose with Perspex covers over them, similar to Ferrari Daytona’s.

I know someone that makes a good repro set of those 40's to early 60's style herringbone twill one piece overalls, in white with blue accents, which are Massa team colours......you'd just need to find an embroidery place that does the computer embroidery and give them a logo from a scan to do the Trident etc on the back They are much nicer than the stiff cotton/canvas ones that Goodwood sells

Was sitting on the fence whether to go this year as the MM is not far behind it, makes sense while all the grandstands
are already up.If the Rolling Bones Rods are going to be there could be my only chance of seeing them unless i go to the States.

Is this a strange looking Notch?? whats the deal with the Sail panels?? any body seen one like this? its RHD and almost 40K FFS
don't want to appear ignorant but where is the sail panel,
The rear line of this in the coupe is normally close to parallel with the front line of the panel, but on this car, the rear line is much more angled creating a much wider base than is normally seem.
Very odd. Its either a one off Ford show/prototype car, or a custom job.

I've always got a complimentary through a source, but I'm not sure whether that's a likely possibility this year, and didn't want to take a chance of missing out, so have just bought a Friday ticket, as prefer the Friday's there to a Sunday.

Funny so do i ,less people as well, Only ever been for the whole weekend when i lent a 59 Dodge Coronet to one I've always got a complimentary through a source, but I'm not sure whether that's a likely possibility this year, and didn't want to take a chance of missing out, so have just bought a Friday ticket, as prefer the Friday's there to a Sunday.
of the store holders to help him promote his stand, he gave me a wrist band, to be honest i got a little bored by Sunday,
With people rather having last years tickets carried over to this year than have a refund i suppose there will be less
tickets available plus jo public will be hungry having had the last Revival 2 years now.
Better make my mind up a bit quick by the sounds of it.

Wasn't sure whether it was actually on this year, I haven't really kept up on events, will have to check and book a ticket.

The excitement is killing me, god knows how you must be feelingMaser passed its MOT today, should be here in the next few days
My mate has just bought a F Type Jag blind on the internet,
Asked him today when is coming,he said will be next week now they are delivering it from Liverpool,
No excitement or emotion at all, when it's here it's here he says, like ordering a pair of shoe's from Amazon .
I suppose we are all different ,then he bought the wrong one, a V6 not the V8

The Plymouth Valiant Coupe sold at a very reasonable price - I have to say a bargain at £7.5K'ish - classy alternative to early Barracuda.
Love these odd bod cars, who would wake up in the morning and say i think i will buy a Valiant todaythe same way you would a Mustang or Camaro , probably won't see another even at a large yank show,
nice to be different rather than follow the herd.

for afternoon tea, whatever it takes, He's had a couple of MK2's one with a 4.2, had 5 speed, power steering so
pumped the front tyres up today,:Trouble is he said if he buys it he wants the overdrive working so have to get my
finger out and will be under pressure to sort it. might do a deal with his Tiger or Cosworth Capri if he insists,
