What with guns,Italian stuff so don't want to turn this into a old boys ailments forum but got my results from my

x-ray yesterday, says i have joint degeneration , worse on the left side, must be all those heavy clutches i've

had to press over the years, was reasonably fine until lock down, after this winter i felt like my whole body has seized up.

Boss Mustang in a beige/yellow colour that had period race stickers on it that didn't sell on "Collecting Cars"

a mouth or so ago falling flat on it's face at £28K is now on E-Bay ,Classified ad for £60K,

Either someone is trying to double his money or the seller is one of the same as the "Collecting Cars" vendor..

There's a lot of this about lately and not just the yank stuff - the same classic Minis keep appearing repeatedly on ebay and elsewhere between failed attempts at being auctioned off, and each time it happens the price goes up by a few grand. There is a Mini specialist down in the south east who's had the same stock for at least ten years, every now and then he puts a few of them on ebay or c&c with inflated prices, they disappear as if sold only to reappear again shortly afterwards.

Its a bit like retail 'shop' stock inventory. The 'proffessional' accountants/bean counters running the financial side of things look for regular 'stock turns' - and effectively any purchased stock if not sold within a certain period will be 'written down' in value by a percentage after, say 6 month or a year with the business setting against profit/losses etc. Much the same thing will happen after another year perhaps and untimately the item is devalued to zero, goes off the books. Whether that analogy applied in the car trade perhaps someone else can advise.
'Old school' traders who perhaps own their own premises may look at the unsold items as an investment (what with such low interest rates on savings) - their logic will be "someones gonna buy it at some point - I'm happy just to wait until the prices go higher".

Depends if your using your money or the banks, if you are doing it as a semi hobby and not dependent on the income

for your livelihood , If you own the stock and it's going up every year and stock is hard to replace i suppose advertise it at

next years price and if it sells it sells,if doesn't nothing lost,

Is the Masa tucked up in your garage yet ??

That's the one, Some need a fast turnover others don't and can take advantage of squeezing the last penny,

I remember when main dealers would have a 40 day policy on their second hand stock as they were depreciating ,

Good time for the buyer to go in, Classic car sales were the exact opposite as even before these dizzy days of appreciation

the stock was always worth more the following year, no Glass's Guide dictating the market place,

Always remember the boys at Dream Cars saying it's not what the car owes you more how much more they had to pay to

replace the stock that counted.

Was that bloke who Brewer went to for the take-it apart and repair it fix for the 3200GT control unit thingy on the WD episode, I'm sure that's what Brewer called him?

Reminds me of the film "Road House", A great project for someone who could restore it themselves otherwise

would cost a fortune to do, Or like Patrick Swayze drive as it is, Do like that period of Riv,

My 63 was advertised a year or so ago up in Scotland now purple from the blue when i owned it.

Yes, high power, dual quad equipped 425 SuperWilcat engine code was quite rare option on the Riv's in '65.
The good old Nailhead 425 was a real torque-monster in this spec too, about 450-460ft-lbs of torque IIRC.

No, different bloke but I know who you mean - the one with the shed full of Masers who cracked open the throttle body gubbins and replaced the circuit board gizmo with something else wink
