Perhaps the donor car was a scrapper but with a known engine/transmission combo - I'm sure that Pop's been around for a few years so perhaps the Masa assy was bought cheap?
Seen the Masa Rod a few times in and around the southern shows, it was up for sale around a a year ago or maybe more .

So it may well have changed hands since then, It's been nicely done though.

The whole idea of a rod is to make things simple ,confused guess people like a challenge and be a little different.

When i say 35/36 would have to be a replacement not as well as the 32's ,but somehow don't think that's going

to happen any time soon. nono

Yes only one garage is a limiting factor, but it dont stop ours minds wandering off !
with a bare bones Rod, a really good cover and it could live outside, thats why a started to look for a sound but tatty second car, but a years past and nothing of interest any where near my budget,

With the Challenger as done as a old car ever are, im getting twitchy again, been using the Dodge for work , which is a great way to start and finish the day, but i need another project!
What a great photo, with the crystal clear blue sky you could be anywhere in California, Where we all should be anyway.

Must be be great feeling heading for home in the R/T, I bet you can't help feeling a little smug surrounded by all those Eurobox's smokin

109 degree's F............eek I have an ally DeWitt rad on the Vette - it cools quite well in UK temperatures - but once it climbs over the low 20 degree's C I'm in trouble. Went to local CCCUK Essex meeting Wednesday evening and with 25/26 temperatures it was running at 200 degrees F. That's ok if moving - get stuck in traffic and it's potentially bad news. Anyways it chucked it down later (as forecast) so (as with any T top or rad rop) other issues were a bit of a worry but happily only a very small amount of rain leaked on to l/h and r/h floor mats. Ambients were now well down so engine temps wern't at issue. Next issue was to leather the thing down once back in the garage. Hate driving the car in the wet 'cos of having to clean it afterwards and removing the wheels to clean them (or risk ripping my hands to pieces) and hopefully a major proper wash-down the fillowing day.
l'm always amazed how well the Vette handles and brakes in really wet conditions.
Rather nice '70 Vert with 383 stroker lump and Holley Sniper injection set-up that was just out of Custom Exotics following a very nice paint job turned-up.

Fantastic!

My Firebird went in on Wednesday to start having some new bit and bobs fitted. I agreed with the garage that they'd do it bit by bit and when the weather's good, so that it's never left there overnight, and so it doesn't get driven in the wet (call me sad, I don't care... wink ) New anti roll bar links and bushes, and the very iffy brake flexi hoses changed. I picked the car up and drove back to my office, and the pedal was spongy, but I thought no matter, it's due to go back in next Wednesday for 'phase 2' of the de-crusting, they can sort it then.
Come 5 o'clock I get in to drive home, and the brake pedal goes right to the floor and I can only just stop. I crawl it back to the garage in rush hour and leave it with them. Pestered them yesterday, but they didn't get round to looking at it, apart from to say it's not leaking, so it must just need more bleeding. They're looking at it this morning, but whatever time they get it done, I'm now going to have to drive it home in the pissing rain. Miffed.
They say it never rains but it pores...! I know some on here would say ''sod it, stop worrying about it getting wet'' but with my Mini Cooper S it's not so much the worry of the dreaded tin worm fizzing its way through the floor pan and the sills (again), but more that when it does get wet the sliding window channels just fill up with water and takes ages to dry out or drain away. When I had it restored we removed the sliding window panes and the bottom channels in both doors just disintegrated so it all had to be remade from scratch.

Anyway back on topic - I get the distinct impression that your Firebird is turning into a keeper Leigh wink

[And back off topic for a mo - I'm buzzing like an idiot right now in anticipation of the Maser's arrival tomorrow, I haven't felt this exited about a new car purchase for ages wink]

Bloody typical, hot for the whole week until you take the Vette out, you think it could have waited a few more hours,

Love the black C3 Roadster ,never seen those wheels on a Vette before , suits it although i still like the standard Rally wheels,

Have been known to disappear into the garage even at midnight after a wet run back from a show and re-appearing

2/3 hours later after a re-clean ,It's much easier to get the dirt off while still wet and fresh before it dries on,

especially if a dark colour , sad really rolleyes

Leigh ,did you manage to get your Firebird home in the dry ,driving

PS------- Just had another look at the Roadster and it looks more dark green than black, even better.

Very dark green - almost a metallic olive green. Wheels are the style you'd expect to see on a Cobra replica - they work though. I didn't study the panel gaps on the night - looking at the photo's and they do seem really good.

That did cross my mind?? if they let Master Cylinder run dry, then its virtually impossible to bleed without removing it and bench bleeding!
Old car needs are different,

I tried the horn earlier, it sounds more like a comedy Fiat 500 than a Maser!

How about some really dubiously styled and undesireable Cadillacs for auction - 16 of them - £500 reserve each - which one can be nominated for the worst taste possible?
