Marshall Dixon racing was the name you're looking for - Tony Dickson was the guy who passed away. Didn't know him personally but seemed a real 'gent' and people spoke of him with great reverence. Bought a few items from him - firstly when he traded from home (Shirley, near Coulsdon?) - when I had my Firenza ('77 ish) I bout a set of new 7 x 15" American Racing five spokes (four spokes actually for a Vauxhall) - £100 for 4 may seem cheap today, but 45 years ago it was a serious price. Tony had a collection of Pontiac GTO's stored at his Gasoline premises - as a recall a 64, 65, 66 and so on.........

long time ago! i dont know the Carrington bloke, did go to his place near Maidstone a few years back, i bid on a Hemi engine he was selling, lol...
err my mediocre bid came very very short of the wanted price!

i loved the Paisley print, completely Rowan And Martin , 1970 period perfect ! my favourite B Body , one year only, and spawned the phenomenal SuperBird and Daytona Chrysler had the balls to build and sell these cars,

That's the guy,met him a couple of times when i visited Alan ,seemed like a really nice genuine bloke.

Alan tried to buy his cars but i think they were kept in the family.

Ye the cafe is just up the road ,don't know if it's still there, great bikers haunt as i found out one summers evening in Alan's garden.

Alan's the guy i sold the green Charger 500 to

Not surprised you didn't win that Hemi , Alan's a great guy but doesn't take any prisoners when it comes to business.

After all he is in the car trade but does know how to restore a classic car.

Rowan and Martin ,ye that sums it up. All these period programs you keep coming up with that i've totally forgotten.

I hope the Members Meeting goes ahead. They are running a V8 race this year and hopefully I might get an entry in the Mustang. Never raced at Goodwood before. Nothing wrong with having a bike in the house. Mines next to my office desk. Other half has no issues with it. In an ideal world (if I had the $$$) I would have all my stuff downstairs and we live upstairs. The floor would be glass. Might be a bit of a fire risk though

Thank you. I haven't ridden it since I broke my hip 12 years ago. It is a lovely piece of art.
Petrolheads get it.
Normal people go. Why have you got a bike in your lounge. Are you mad.
I am glad like you guys to be totally mad smile

Good man, beats a coffee table every time, Love the sound of your wife, she sounds like a keeper.

I've always wanted a purpose built building/house with a gallery type of living quarters upstairs so i can look down on the cars

when nothing on tv. Trouble is i'd probably have to sell the cars to pay for it.

I've never raced at Goodwood either but had plenty of track time there as it's my local circuit , only problem

not so much for racing but track time is the noise police , I've sometimes had to swap my road exhaust for a quieter one just

to meet the decibel level. They seem to be more lenient on MM and Revivai practice.days , In fact there was a couple

of unsilenced practice days before the MM came along.

Your enjoy Goodwood, very challenging but not much run off area's. Expect Mark knows his way round there blindfolded

Look forward watching you there.

Going to see my mate tomorrow with the sd cards if he hasn't forgotten so should know if he can do anything with them.

If not will send them to your mate . thanks

The second gen was very influenced by European cars and the Ferrari 250 Berlinetta and Jaguar XJ6 were certainly evident in the Camaro.
With only the C1 Vette and T/bird in the 50's there wasn't a lot of choice American wise,

Come the 60's they got there act together even pinching a bit here and a bit there off the Europeans,

They made a good job of it with designs superior to some of the top European badges .

Must be fate, perhaps buy a aircraft hanger in the States and fill it up with American cars, would save importing them

and you will always have something exciting to drive while there.

When American cars were cheap in the States i did think i could leave them there and would give me a excuse to

have a few more road trip holidays.

My mate managed to resurrect my photo's and has put them on a UBS stick.

Now all i need is a couple of weeks to go through them all .

Appreciate your help in this matter.

Nice 70 Bull Nose Firebird Espirit manual on E-Bay at £27, 750 ,not a lover of gold but does look good, not a T/A i know , still rather have the Challenger though.

That Cobra Jet engined 69 Mustang Mack 1 that was up for £109,000 is now £69,999 and a very tidy orange 70 Mach 1 that i saw up for

£92k at the 2019 MM meeting is now up for £42,500 by the same seller, Do you think they were trying it on or what .

Noticed a few cars that have been hanging around a bit have been sold including the 2 red C3's, Maybe people getting fed up with

waiting around and are getting on with buying classics again. before spring.

That's where the bargains are today unlike the current classic yank prices nowadays, just got to have deep pockets if things

mechanical go pear shape.

And Late ish Fatboy rides have always been just about affordable to people on normal, ish incomes, but buying and running are way way different things!
500 horse Bentley's, scary quick car, 15-20K , supercar at shoe box money, just pray it dont go wrong!
DB 9's at 35K , fab looking and sounding car,

Lovely scary things, but absolutely soulless, with no sense of Theater, nah i'l keep the Mechanical dinosaur ! the only electrics its got do something useful, likes lights, heater blower ignition etc , when it breaks i can fix it, my car's not particularly fast, dont handle, terrible on fuel, noisy , and a bumpy ride, in a word Fabulous,
