OK, going out on a limb here, but... my call is it doesn't make MSRP/RRP!

Only question is, how far off (under) the sale price will it get to. Even 50% Thoughts?

The original list price seemed to be in having a laugh territory, for an adapted Rapide.

Middle East market only, AML announced.
Perhaps that did not go quite to plan, because it subsequently became more widely available.

Numbers produced are not clear, but 120 has been suggested.

Nicholas Mee offered a LHD Taraf for sale last year at £500,000.
Well, you would probably expect a £400,000 discount, for a 7 year old car, that has been driven 150 km ! - smile

EDIT

Select your interior.

It`s handsome thing, and no doubt exclusive, but hell`s teeth, $877,235 ! You`d have to be very keen for a coachwork Rapide.

As nice as it is I really dont see anything about it thats actuallly any better than our AMR Rapide, all at a fraction of the cost!

Very little in it truth be known, ok except for the fridge! wink

Both have 4 proper seats
Both have unique interior
Both have the same B&O soundsystem
Taraf has the old waterfall, Rapide has the newer haptic waterfall
Both have the same 8spd ZF gearbox
Taraf is a saloon, Rapide is a hatchback
Rapide has the V12 595bhp engine vs V12 540bhp in the taraf
60 tarafs vs 188 AMR Rapides worldwide (47 in the UK)

Isn't rear entry/exit and leg room significantly different though?

I just wonder if the ride is smooth enough to prevent champagne thigh though?

And you can actually drive a Rapide on US roads...

That does seem to be a clear advantage for the Rapide, on any roads.

The auction Taraf has only been driven 200 miles in 5 years.
The Nicolas Mee Taraf has only been driven 93 miles in 7 years (at about £4,300 per mile, it must be cheaper to travel by NetJets).

As much as I like the Taraf for its individuality, I think I’d go for a Rapide AMR instead.
Unless you prefer to be chauffeured to your destination there’s really not much point in owning a Taraf, exclusivity aside.
There’s much more joy to be had behind the wheel of a Rapide AMR at a fraction of the price.

Indeed, totally agree Olivier! You need one in your fleet wink

Mariana Blue I see, and now sold looking at the dealer website! A lovely colour and the one used on the ltd edition Red Bull V12VS's too! My good friend has an AMR Rapide in this colour, bought slightly after ours although he was looking for at least as long as we were for one.

of the 188 made, so far I have been able to ascertain the following breakdown

The 4 std colour choices:
54 Onyx Black
53 Stirling Green (Halo colour scheme)
43 Scintilla Silver
17 Mariana Blue
Special order colours
1+ Ceramic Grey (UK)
3+ Lightning Silver (UK, USA, Belgium)
1+ Aston Heritage Racing Green (Switzerland then UK)
1+ Red (assumed Volcano) - New Zealand

Note the std colours are absolute numbers as I have had those confirmed by AMHT. The special order colours MAY have more of each as I have only obtained these by observing online adverts or cars seen at shows. So I am missing 15 cars all of which must be in non std colours also...

This car is clearly for a collector that wants this particular piece of rare AM history in his/her collection. I doubt price is a significant issue. The USP is rarity, the comparisons with the Rapide are not relevant.

How much will it fetch? As I am always told when going to auctions, just need two motivated buyers in the room and the sky is the limit.

60 cars though - its not actually all that rare really, well not to command insane premiums anyway. Personally the difference between one of 60 and one of 188 is irrelevant, you need to get down to single digit production volumes in AM to be rare.... I think the point is, that the Taraf is in reality just a Rapide S underneath and largely so inside, albeit bespoked here and there.

There a V8V AMR Pro for sale at AM Cheltenham for £775k - that is one of only 7 cars made. No that's rare - but not road legal of course.
There is also a V600 Dreadnought Roadster for sale at AM Cheltenham for £750k - one of 7 of each coupe/roadsters. Also very rare and totally road legal

This particular AMR Rapide has been sold but there’s another Mariana Blue one at the Cannes dealer that is potentially for sale.
I do love it and it’s very tempting and probably would have gone for it if I hadn’t bought the 707.

I think the Rapide / Taraf comparison is fair. It is born as a Rapide that was handed to Multimatic for its manufacturing and comes out as the ultimate expression of a 21st century "Lagonda Rapide".

I really like the Taraf design cues that are obviously Lagonda (C pillar) and the lengthened wheelbase makes it a true opulent 4 seater. The exclusivity in 60 unit volume made it financially impossible to homologated for North America / RoW and I'm ok with that.

I saw the Rapide AMR when I was in Cannes recently - it was the only car in the showroom that I was tempted to actually sit in !! - very nice...

Is everyone sitting down?

The very last VH Vantage model.
V600 cars were said to have a list price (before options) of £1,400,000.
Roadster versions might have cost more, I don't know.
The Roadster for sale now, has an asking price of £750,000.
Age 4 years old.
Mileage 83.

Total depreciation ...... £650,000.
Depreciation ............... £7,830 per mile.

Hope those 83 miles were worth it.

Might depreciation of £160,000 per year, be a record ?

Wonder if the mileage was purposely limited, to retain value ?

The roadster was £1.4mil Jon if i recall, with the coupe being less at £1.2mil.

Either way yes, its a fruity £640 a day depreciation regardless of miles!

Not that either the v8 AMR Pro, or likely the taraf i suspect will have faired too well themselves!

amongst the very expensive new Aston Martins, I have not studied, but have the impression that Zagato models might retain their value better than others.

EDIT
Strange how that first letter 'A', displays as lower case, but it was input upper case.

There's a lot more room in a Lagonda Rapide than a Taraf!

But sadly only half the engine. I've had this since 1997, ex Works Demo car
