A seller called lawr389 on eBay suggested by Lostkiwi on another thread.
Really comfy, quick delivery and came in at under £15.
Great, thanks very muchReally comfy, quick delivery and came in at under £15.
For the price, you'll no doubt forgive the fact that the keepers are invariably a little loose.

As above I have half a dozen in various widths, colours and textures.

What happened to your strap? It looks damaged...
Nice watch by the way.
Huh? Where do you see the damage? Either it's the gator grain you see, which has caught the sun. Or you're talking about the end of the strap from the other side?Nice watch by the way.
And thanks, is a mega watch. My favourite I've owned to date.

I thought this was damage - but maybe I can't quite see what it is.And thanks, is a mega watch. My favourite I've owned to date.

The strap is the “unconventional” way round - is it that?
I guess that could be it. The deployment folds in the same direction like any I've had before, same as my old Omega and Tag. The only difference is the long strap which doesn't finish with the clasp is on the outside, rather than being under the other strap, tucked in against the wrist.I love the Tuna Can watch design...but am struggling with $1k for a quartz, even if its a really fancy, unique quartz.
I can justify spending reasonably large amounts on an automatic watch both for the aesthetics and because there is "a lot inside" it. They are unnecessarily complicated machines, and I like that. But a high end quartz feels like its just about the looks, the case design - and It grates.
What say PH? Should i just get over myself?
And yes there are automatic and spring drive Tunas, but they are multiples of the price....
Sidestepping the quartz price discussion, there are other Seiko Tunas available for way under £1000; here's one: https://www.lowryjewellers.com/watches-c1/seiko-me... (also quartz, also more than £300)
And here's another: https://www.devicemonster.co.uk/seiko-prospex-auto... (similar price, not quartz)

That's definitely just the angle and catching the morning sun. It's the grain/scale of the gator. I have been reading a great deal recently about Grand Seiko's, Spring Drive and High Beat. It seems to me that Seiko make watches that easily rival the very best that Switzerland make. Their attention to detail is quite incredible.
I am resisting all the watches that tempt me as I have two great watches already and really mustn't have any more. I like yours a lot.

That GS GMT is super.
Agreed, and it looks much nicer (fantastic) on the croc. strap rather than bracelet: http://www.seiko.co.uk/collections/men/grand-seiko...number2 said:

Seiko's website is absolutely terrible. The pictures on there are useless. Mad considering the asking price. I love the bracelet and probably prefer it.Edited by SeanST150 on Saturday 17th November 10:37

They are lovely and I'd prefer a bracelet having lost (and found several hours later) an expensive watch on a golf course where a leather strap had failed.... a small area that was glued around part of the buckle had heated and come apart in hot weather. Watch dropped off and I didn't notice until about 3 holes later! Do you tend to leave the GMT hand reading GMT when not travelling? I wondered about swinging it under the hour hand - or would that look odd?
Does a Hi Beat need servicing more regularly? I imagine not...
