Really hard to resist! I was going to post this but a bit too late for you - Goldsmiths have got it and there's a 20% off code that makes the price £440 - WATCH20. No 3rd year guarantee though so might be worth a bit extra. I've ordered mine about an hour ago! I've just bought 2 Michelin PS4s's for the Civic as well yesterday. The money just buggers off doesn't it?!
This 20% offer has now stopped, anyone know if its back before Christmas???Edit: It still works, only on certain items.

Lovely, lovely things and rare as hen‘s teeth. Expect to pay $7k for a good one.

Circling the entrance of a deep rabbit hole with this one. All the Seiko chronos I had until this point were from the Suwa factory. Seiko's more mainstream Daini factory also produced their own, separate (movement and everything) lines of chronos - this 7016-5000 aka "Monaco" was from 1972, so a couple of years after the white heat of "first automatic chronograph"...
There's a brilliant podcast by Atlassian (part of a series on leadership and collaboration) that explores why Seiko had Suwa and Daini compete with each other - if you're interested at all in their history, it's totally worth a listen.
