Waited my time and finally went ahead with a SARB035. A lot of rough examples out there but managed to obtain a late 2018 example in what I would consider very good condition. Dimensionally and proportionally perfect in my opinion, the fit for my 16cm wrist is really nice.
Nice watch sim.....Real strap monster too....mines currently on a padded red leather and imo it looks fantastic. Very happy with it so far. The standard bracelet is pretty good, but I'm looking at a Hirsch leather strap, with white stitching as an option.

I have the black dial version, mega watches for the money, though they do seem to be increasing in price rapidly.Edited by GWC on Tuesday 17th August 18:34
Its a bit of a lottery on imports - occasionally I've had to pay a bill, most of the time the package arrives no problem. This applies to both living in the UK and the USA.
I personally think the fact that it is a Seiko is pretty helpful - I guess the customs chaps see the brand and a value in Yen or Sing$ and assume it is not worth holding, even if it is a GS or spring drive!
Its a small sample, but most of the nicer Seiko's I have bought have been much easier through customs than lower value items with a more attention-grabbing brand.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I think these new ones are gorgeous (not such a fan of the skeletonized though).

I think those look great except the bl**dy date ... the original had no date, why they couldn’t carry that forward I don’t know.https://www.seikowatches.com/global-en/products/pr...
I posted this elsewhere earlier today and thought I’d share it. It’s something of a family heirloom and I’d guess is from the seventies. I think it’s great, easy to read, accurate and all those good things. My poor photographic skills don’t really show just how nice the dial is, I believe linen is how it’s described. If anyone can shed any light on its spec. or age I’d be interested to know.

A forum favourite along with the orange monster from way back......and why not? still looks great.
I've got my Orange Monster out, going to wear it for a month having rarely worn it for years. Any thoughts on clasps? The original clasp is not up to the standard of the bracelet. I am more of a bracelet guy although I might try it on the NATO I have and the rubber straps too.

That's a lovely old thing. If you put the serial number into the following website, it should give you the month and year it was made: https://retroseiko.co.uk/seiko-serial.htmEdited by Mutley78 on Saturday 21st August 15:42

Seemingly it could be a number of years but given I remember it being around forever I’m going to go with 1981. It’s one of couple of watches I would never sell and seemingly has a value of about £12.50. Thanks for sharing that link, have a great weekend.
