This today
I like some of Seiko's recent Prospex offerings - there's one with a green dial and bezel which has caught my eye...

I expect you know, but if you look carefully at the Prospex "X" logo, you can make out all of the letters in "Prospex".
You'll all be doing it now...

Thanks thumbup

Not quite sure whether the previous owner has put the graining on the case to try to match the (non-original) bracelet. Am tempted to polish up the case and replace the bracelet with something more appropriate (having an SQ clasp on a KS auto jars somewhat.) Anyone know what this 5621-7000 should have looked like originally? It's a 70s watch so not certain.

I have a 3rd gen Sumo I’m thinking about selling, it’s got a Strapcode Hexad bracelet, the original one has never been used.

Photo from a few days ago - took the standard leather strap off for hols and put this spare nato on. Thought the blue wouldn’t go with the green but actually I think it works.

From the 1970 catalogue:

Looks brushed/not polished to me. This is a good link if you want to have a look through old Seiko catalogues: https://www.theseikoguy.com/catalogs/

Loving that King Seiko! My KS Vanac came with it's original bracelet and the workmanship on that is of the same standard as the watch - super crisp lines right on the point of being sharp enough to cut.

A little divergence away from the photos of our Seikos. How accurate are your watches? I have two - a Monster and a Prospex, and the Monster is accurate to about 30 sec per week but the Prospex loses nearer 1.5 minutes per week, and has done since new. Over to you.

Just for fun I’ll wear my first gen monster and see how we get on today. I don’t remember it being much worse than losing a few seconds a day, if that.

Have a picture anyway. They really aren't pretty are they smile

My Prospex Sumo loses about a minute a week... I have a couple of Prospex Turtles: one gains a minute or so a week and the other is almost spot on - gains a bit over a month but nothing serious

The sarb017 Alpinist pictured above is pretty poor - loses up to 5 mins a week. It’s only 3-4 years old. I’m going to get a local watchmaker to regulate it.

My sarb065 Cocktail Time is pretty accurate (haven’t worn it for ages - think I’ll break it out for the office tomorrow.

My long stolen Blumo was really accurate. Miss that watch….

Most accurate is my sbga011 Snowflake. But then it ought to be..!

Alpinist about the same, but I haven't worn it in a while.
Marine Master a bit more accurate than that, but I just had it serviced as it started to lose time after after 3 years.
Spring Drive Tuna very accurate indeed.
50 quid beach beater Quartz the most accurate of all hehe

No worries. Lovely watch BTW. I need to get hold of a King Seiko at some point.

SBGA063 - 1 or 2 seconds per week.

SBGV233 - 1 or 2 seconds every 6 months when the clocks change.

I highly doubt you’ll ever want to, but if you do ever want to or need to sell that and it isn’t already promised to someone, give me a shout! It’s a glorious thing.

Cheating a little here as it was only announced today, but I have made sure my name is on one of these thanks to the good folks at GS Knightsbridge.

I think that looks much better without the power reserve pointer on the dial.
