Were the hands originally red but have somehow faded to pink? I see that the index markers have red sections so that explanation would make sense. Replacing the hands with pink ones seems absurd!

Given the old curly 'B' Breitling logo, that's a late sixties/early seventies watch so it seems a travesty to see candy pink hands on it. No hairy-chested buyer back then would have done that.

Andrew - we need answers!!
Here's what I know: the owner, a prolific collector and owner of some extremely nice pieces of watch heritage (including a COMEX issued Sub that he got issued whilst working on the rigs) says that it was one of only a few made by Breitling with pink hands, so they are factory fitted. Apparently the Breitling museum owns another one, which isn't in as good condition - they've even tried to buy his from him, but he isn't selling.

Thanks. It's a bit fked at the moment - wore it when racing a few months ago, got out of the car and it was horribly fogged, although that's one better than the year before when it mysteriously broke on my wife's arm at the same time that our car broke on track! Need to have the dial restored and the hands relumed but never seem to be able to get around to it.

Those hands aren't that much pinker than the ones on mine, which also dates from ~1970. I wouldn't doubt it's original.

Here's my navitimer world with some of its friends, sadly the tissot and omega are no longer there, ( hopefully being replaced by a B&R 02-92 if i can find one ), and the g-shock lives up the right way now.
