And a box dial too, congratulations!
Yeah the dials are all over the place, part of the charm of the 5 digit watches, I think there are 4 versions of the "two", this watch is an M series late 2007 with the rectangle/box as you say and then there are loads of little variations across the dials fonts and hour marker lengths through the years.

The reality is that I can’t actually see the detail of the 2 without looking VERY closely but would still appreciate the spodness of it :-)

I had no idea until last year that there are a few stick dial early ceramic GMTs in existence

And speaking as a 5 digit Pepsi owner, the Coke is really really nice!

I had a black bezel GMT back in the day but have always liked the black/red bezel, yeah I can't see the difference with my eye either when it comes to the markers but as you say there is a lot to geek about/learn when it comes to the GMT master if you're interested.

And the amazing thing is that you can swap the bezel inserts if you are brave enough (looks fiddly with that wire)

I’ve just been informed by my wife that she has bought me something! She only told me as I’d see it on the bank statement. It’s something that I had seen, that I really liked and said it would be a lovely thing to have. It’s a Christopher Ward, and I’m a Spurs fan.

It will be my first ‘Swiss’ watch, and the most expensive watch I own when it arrives. Only pain is I have to wait until the end of February for it.

Picked this up yesterday in an antiques shop. I’m looking forward to getting it going and choosing a strap for it. I love the sun bleached / aged bezel.

I've been steadily getting more irritated with my smart watch, it needs charging every two days, the notifications always feel like they arrive at the least welcome time, and I just feel like I'm always looking at it for reasons other than to know what time it is.

To this end, I've decided to order a Citizen NY0125-83E. It arrives on Thursday from Amazon, I found one on sale at a reduced price as it had been returned by a previous buyer, so whilst its not technically new, it'll be more than good enough for sitting on my wrist at work, taking the odd knock and scratch whilst still looking like a nice thing.

That looks cool. Is that rust on the bezel insert? I thought they would be made of Alu. Hopefully the circuit/mechanism still works.

Latest acquisition is a white gold Calatrava. Wanted something simple and unobtrusive for work and currently loving it!

I would spot that immediately. biggrin

But you're right, to most people it looks fairly ordinary.

A lovely watch.

I have one of those and it's one of the most accurate watches I own. It get's put away in the drawer, then a couple of years later I pull it out and wear it for a weekend and it's only a couple of seconds out! Amazing bit of kit.

After much saving up and the sale of my Pateks, this has arrived.

Chuffed.

The jaunty angle of that top spring bar really conveys the hundreds of years of skill that goes into these hand-crafted heirlooms.

Had my eye on one of these for a while now, don't know whether I should go for it.

Thank you. I looked under a magnifying glass today and it looks like it is just a strange orange gunk. The black area on the bezel at the ‘50’ marker also looks like gunk because I can see the ‘50’ underneath. I honestly thought it had worn through at the 50 when I bought it but it might clean up.

Aah, that’s interesting to know, thank you. Fingers crossed it works; I have no reason to doubt it. Unfortunately I have left my watch tools at my father-in-law’s the other side of the country so I have to wait a while to find out.

Well, it arrived today. Ordered back in April.

I think I like it.

It's hypnotic watching the escapement at work, the pallet fork and escape wheel are tiny!
