Isn't the back screw on, so you'd be screwed trying to align it?
Yes it looks like a screw on to me I was hoping the back might have multiple entry points so it is possible to take it off and re screw it on with just the right amount of torque that it lines up a bit better.
You may get it closer if left a little loose. You'd expect CW to have done that if possible.
Maybe it's worth sending them a message to enquire about this before having a go?
Yeah I've done exactly that, waiting for customer support to get back to me.
I think you need to consider the engineering required to have a pre-engraved caseback align perfectly with the case itself. Every time. And that's without considering the torque being applied to effect a proper watertight seal against a highly squishable silicone gasket.

Shooting for the moon imo.

Engraving/laser etching after final assembly and testing would help. I think.

If it's engineered correctly, the groove depth used has the seal squashed the correct amount as the case back steel goes hard against the case itself. To not do it to that point means the seal isn't compressed to spec.

It wouldn't bother me at all being misaligned on the back, as you don't see the case back when wearing it or when displayed to show the dial, I'd rather it was sealed securely.

Lovely looking watch.

Of course. But just 1, or 2 degrees out.... straight to the itchy teeth thread. rofl

Agree completely.

So as thought, it's not possible to get it any better than that. My teeth will just have to itch in silence laugh It is a great looking watch, really pleased with it.

Oh and thanks to the power of Facebook it turns out I went to school with the guy who designed it ! He's getting number 1 apparently.

A photo for those who love a perfectly aligned case back. I’ve no idea how the NAIAD system works but I do love the look.

Lying in a hospital bed bored, I bought another watch. Finally got my hand on a Casio MDV-106 Duro (Marlin) aka the Bill Gates watch. These are going for quite a bit used now since they moved over to the non-Marlin models making these very collectible. Nothing fancy, just a good reliable workhorse.

I've got one of these but noticed yesterday that the battery has gone flat. Does anyone know what I need to buy to replace it? I'm planning to fit it myself but haven't done one before. Any tips?
