Beautifully elegant watch, but is that a strap or a tourniquet?

Just arrived after waiting a while for the strap I wanted.
Added to my Directline home insurance policy today for an extra £13 (no idea if that is for the year or until renewal.

A little bit loose, no?

It doesn't. All of my watches are tools.
Not sure how a Cartier Tank qualifies as a tool!
Well, it certainly is built like a tank.

No, all my watches look like that. Even when loose enough to spin freely on my wrist they still look like they're digging in on the outside (I must have weird shaped wrists)

Been hovering over various stuff to fit the gap between smart watch/GPS and bright stainless dressy watch... for a few hundred quid.

I wanted something not too big, not too complex or blingy, no bracelet, no cyclops (yuck), no bloody 'Pepsi' of any sort! Really like the Black/Stealthy kind of look, maybe with a pop of colour, so obviously theres loads of Seikos that fit the bill (but I've got a few Seikos already), There was an all black Orient Mako I liked, various other Quartz options, those absolutely fab looking new Time Deepwater Reef models, but in the end I've bust the budget a little and ordered a Certina DS Action Diver, which after some research found they offered in A)PVD type Black, and B) a 38mm case. Ceramic bezel, proper Diving ISO approval, screw down crown etc, and a Powermatic 80 movement, used in all sorts of stuff, Hamilton etc, and supposedly tend to be far more accurate than the specified tolerance.

As is always the case, the photos in reviews, Youtube etc always look so much better than those used by the manufacturer. 'Just' a black NATO but I dont want a bracelet, and you can't get the black casing any other way. It might get a silly brightly coloured silicone band for Holidays etc

Bought sign unseen, bit unusual for me so I'm excited for it to be delivered!

Picked up these two this week, both pre-owned, both in the sale.

Lack of steering wheel makes it a fail from me.

Nice watches though, congratulations.

This was delivered earlier in the week. Had one about 11 years ago and stupidly sold it. It’s a limited edition with only 250 made, in solid rose gold. I swapped the strap for a Teju one from Cousins.

Oof. What a cracker. I have the panda revival. One of those watches you look at for the time, and forget to check the time because you were too busy admiring the watch.

Nice, I wonder how it would look with red filled indexes on the bezel?

Great choice!

I have a big Birthday coming up in a couple of weeks time and have been researching dive watches for a while. I have looked at loads at different price points including the Orient Makos before discovering Certina (following a post by an owner in this forum).

An under the radar brand with a great history in dive watches (in the early days the DS watches competed directly with Submariners). I like the blue Titanium DS: Swiss brand (part of Swatch group) and movement for under £1k. I think they are a bit of a bargain.

Thanks.
It looked like an aquatimer but I didn't recall ever having seen one with chronos, maybe I just haven't been paying attention.
Anyway great purchase, fantastic complications on a dive watch!

It’s my 50th birthday in 2 weeks. I have spent most of the last year trying to decide what watch I was going to celebrate the half century with. I had narrowed it down to 2.

My wife has gone away for a week and on the grounds that it is easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission, I had already decided I was going to place the order this morning.

Discovered that First Class Watches have a bank holiday sale on. So have bought both. Oops!
