Incoming… what do you have? (Vol. 3)
Discussion
Following the Certina last Black Friday,
I've managed to avoid purchases over,
X-Mas,
New Years sales,
Valentines Sales
Pay review upgrade,
Summer Sales,
Small productivity bonus,
August holiday shopping,
And were back to Black Friday,
Damn you Black Friday Sales ..
My wallet says damn you again

Bit the bullet today & went for the Sky Dweller. Stumped up a couple of hundred more than list but it was unworn & 2 months old today.
I really wanted a Daytona but when I put one on, it felt really weedy with no wrist 'presence' compared to the SD, the face & dials just looked lost in a small 40mm case.

I assume you waited up and watched the date snap from 30 to 1? I really wanted a Daytona but when I put one on, it felt really weedy with no wrist 'presence' compared to the SD, the face & dials just looked lost in a small 40mm case.
I have a Sky Dweller in steel/blue - it's a clever mechanism.

That would look great on a brown leather strap too

What size case is that one? I really like this new red dial (if it wasn't for that damn power meter!) but some of them are absolutely huge!If you like the red dial then maybe try the SBGH269 or SBGJ021, the cases are smaller and more subtle. (and they are much cheaper)

Yes, was that sad? I tried to explain what was special about it only needing changing manually in Feb if you kept it wound, the lady in the shop just wanted the money & my wife thought I needed my head testing spending 13k on another watch.I have a Sky Dweller in steel/blue - it's a clever mechanism.

The Sky Dweller is a mechanical marvel - very clever indeed. It's the only Rolex I have and I bought it because of the mechanism.
I suspect you are cash neutral on it - in other words you have a fine watch and can get your cash back any day of the week if you absolutely needed to. Better than having it sitting in a bank doing nothing.
How is your accuracy?

Not sad at all.

Not checked the accuracy (to within seconds) to be fair but I have been checking it against the clock I set it against and at noon & midnight, that is what it is showing. I will have a closer look at weekend. I need to be out on plant today/tomorrow so its tucked up in the safe in favour of something a little more suited to slopping round in the st! It's a keeper for me in memory of my gran. With the money she left me her wishes were, pay for your house so the family is secure & buy one of those bloody watches you keep looking at
