Saw this whilst window shopping yesterday so made an impulse buy...joking obviously! Feeling pretty lucky to get my hands on this!

That’s a beauty!!! Currently waiting for one but as you’ve said above, it’s hard to track and the ‘list‘ isn’t as simple as ‘right who’s next?’

After what seems like forever, I picked this
up today and am over the moon with it. Pictures really don’t do it justice!

Lovely! Was walking past York’s main AD who had one in the window just before lockdown. Popped in and tried it on and loved it immediately. Resisted temptation though as was waiting for a Batgirl from my own AD (that then indeed did come a couple of weeks later thankfully).

New today.

I was looking for a tool / sports watch with a silver face and integrated rubber strap.

So of course I bought a blue dial with a brown leather strap spin

Alpina Alpiner 4 Automatic.

Bazza do let us know what you think of it. Have my eye on one myself.

Random question but is it 20mm lug width do you know?

Nice, will take a look.

Does this come with the additional silicone strap? Just bought the same for my Monster. Now thinking I could have got this and had the strap for both!

It's lovely! smile

Seriously - good things are:

That dial - it's a beautiful prussian blue / dark turquoise shade with a subtle sunburst finish. There are a number of YouTube reviews of the watch that give you a decent idea of what it's like - as ever it's even nicer in the flesh. It's not a 'pure'navy blue if that's what you're after.

Other finishing details - applied polished indices, brushing on the bezel & case, polished bevel on the lugs, all very nicely designed and executed. It's just a very handsome watch in my view.

Handset - this matters to me probably more than it should - but the shape, length and finishing of the hands here are exactly as they should be imho.

Strap - I bought the watch with the intention of putting on a selection of different straps straight away (a sailcloth type or an Erika's Originals) but in the event I've been perfectly happy with the one it came on, although it's a thick & quite unwieldy thing with quite a plasticky feel, it smells lovely (!), looks good and has proven perfectly comfortable.

Accuracy - it has a sellita movement which is smooth to hand wind and quiet in operation and rotor action. After 4 days in which I've not taken it off it's running at about +3.5 seconds per day, which is more than acceptable for me.

... and the not so good...

Its big. 44 - 45mm case (depending on which source you use) and 52mm lug to lug. I have a couple of other watches with similar case widths (Grand Seiko Diver and Damasko DC80) but this feels bigger on the wrist and is the absolute biggest I would wear on my 7 1/4 inch wrist. If you're at all unsure about whether you could live with the size I would strongly recommend trying on one before committing yourself.

Bezel - normally I don't like steel bezels, but I really like the look if this one (and it really suits the other design features of the watch). However the bezel feel is a bit ordinary - it neither has the buttery smoothness of some nor the precision engineered feel of others, it's just a bit ... ordinary. And - it's not a proper uni-directional dive bezel either, it turns both ways, which may either count as a good thing or a bad thing in your book.

As you'll probably have gathered from my initial post I bought it because I was seduced by its looks. If they also push your buttons and you're happy with the size then I would unreservedly commend it to you.

great info, thank you
I deliberating and I've ordered one over the weekend via chrono24, my wrist size is slightly larger and its flat, so I hope that the sizing is just about right.
