For some reason, I thought these were quite expensive. It turns out they're not.
That's probably because they're mecha-quartz, which I'm not a fan of. It's also a chronograph, which I don't like, and has a tachymeter, which I think is pointless.
Mine's due in early October.

I think they are worth it just for the looks personally.
I have just ordered a Farer Bernina.
Have wanted one for a while. Let's see if these watches deserve the plaudits...

Exciting choice. I keep looking at Farer and asking myself: is it all style over substance or is it as good as it looks? I really want it to be the latter and am forever hovering over the Leven as a replacement for a stolen Seiko Sumo. Have wanted one for a while. Let's see if these watches deserve the plaudits...

Good on you for going for the boldest of the three in that series - look forward to your pics of it when it lands.

Movement finishing not perfect, but overall, this is a lovely thing. The yellowed face and red lettering is weird but stunning. Sort of artificial patina that gives this watch a really unique feel - feels like a beautifully made antique.
That is lovely, the colours remind me of a medical gaugeOMITN said:
Very nice..!
Just a thought (please don’t shout at me!)…. Not keen in the blue strap. Red maybe? Or white?
Love it - great, bold choice.
No offence taken at all - blue was a bold choice! I have many straps, so will be trying lots out. This blue strap will do service on other watches. Just a thought (please don’t shout at me!)…. Not keen in the blue strap. Red maybe? Or white?

The Farer strap is a thing of beauty. Even the buttons on the quick release bars are beautifully machined, the buckle is a work of art and the leather is thick and supple. Way better than the leather Breitling strap my Navitimer came with.

Just checked mine (which Ive been meaning to have looked at) and it is the same as you describe.
Interesting. And googling the issue seems to suggest it’s a relatively common problem. There’s definite lateral movement in the bezel as well - not much, maybe half a mm, but can’t say I’ve ever noticed it on other brands before. Definitely sloppy QC. Or poor design. Not impressed either way. Both my PO bezels sound ‘tinny’ when tapped and aren’t a patch on the Tudor BB58 I’ve got with me here. And the SD43 is a different league entirely.
Let’s see what the dealer says!
I'll be going back to my parents place over Christmas and their neighbour works in a Jewelers that is an Omega place (including a service centre) so I'll wait until then to get it sorted.
Always wanted a Breitling Emergency - had some good news business wise today.
