A significant birthday today, I've been umming and ahing about this one since its (re)launch and thought if I'm going to bite the bullet now is as good a time as any. Probably not to everyone's taste though I think it fits its brief very well indeed and it'll fit in well between my blue Pelagos and black dialed BB36.

Congratulations and happy birthday

Not a watch but new strap incoming for the U1 - A Steveo Para. Definitely my favourite canvas style strap for larger watches.

Good straps. Yours looks a lot darker shade of green than mine

I think it’s my moody editing although yours does look lighter than mine in real life. I’d say mine is somewhere between the two.

…I like that we all have ‘lists’ of birthday presents - my other ‘40th watch’ is a Pelagos 39 but that will probably turn up nearer my 50th at this rate.
Words have come back to bite me a bit.

I had my first ‘the call’ today to say ‘my’ 39 has turned up!

Looks like I am getting two watches for my 40th

Does anyone do a 54mm watch I can order for later this year?

I am sure Invicta would do something in the size?

1642 in Chrono24 53~55mm Watch, Most sensible watches appear to be rectangular but if you want round 54mm then maybe an Omega Proprof, There are some humdingers in there though smile

Int it pretty!

I was (darned nearly) set on saving and saving for a GS but stumbled on a mention of these - they get called the baby grand. Not quite the same degree of finishing, and auto rather than spring drive, but quite lovely.

Very nice, and it doesn't have that bloody awful power reserve indicator that ruins so many Seiko's I'd very much like to buy. It's been a deal killer time and time again for me with Seiko and GS.

A fair few of the newer ones don't have it, like the Lake Suwa.

Wow, I never thought I'd like something more than the snowflake, but that's gorgeous!

Though the ones without all seem a lot more expensive.
