Which watch keeps tempting you?
Discussion
A cheap one, but I typically don’t wear a watch:

Maybe something to put you off: I think the standard strap is naff, and it's relatively thick.
That said, it's a superb watch and I get loads of compliments on it .
Thanks. Better a naff strap than a naff watch! I'll have the chance to see one in the metal tomorrow before deciding, which inevitably means i'll be posting in the wrist check thread soon enough...That said, it's a superb watch and I get loads of compliments on it .
If the strap is poor I'd normally immediately change it but i like the blue stitching. I have a Zenith Dual Time currently on a Hirsch strap with red stitching, which i put on as the second hour hand has a red tip. The thinking being i'll have red stitch, red tip and blue stitch, blue tip. This feels important for some reason

It is funny how personal watch tastes are, I find the Tudor hour hand above awful
Its the reason I couldn't contemplate buying a Tudor with the 'snowflake' hand. To my eye, with no particular justification, it just looks clunky, agricultural and, unforgivably for a quality timepiece, imprecise.I think the design works better on the old Snowflake and the Pelagos as it matches the hour markers better, though overall I think the Black Bay is a better looking watch.

As an owner of the Arabic version of the first watch I have to say that the Roman version is still a looker. In the above instance though I'd go for the auto version rather than the manual, the reason being that I find that the Roman numerals jar with the Arabic ones around the sub-dial.
I bought it.A quick phone snapshot in the dark next to my crass, ubiquitous, overpriced, chintzy, mega shiny and highly noticeable dive watch for size comparison:
Wavered a little bit and considered sending it back to get the larger Marine Original but decided to run with this one. I ordered sans date and with manual wind so its a bit unusual. Very thin on the wrist.
I just need a heavier strap. I think an alligator print medium brown with white stitch will be perfect. The Stowa supplied one is very supple and high quality though. Smells nice too.

I have an Aquanaut and will upgrade to this one at some point. It does everything I need a watch to do - and in such a simple way.... although the mechanics are not simple.I had thought (and lusted) originally for a Sky Dweller, but like the more understated look of the Patek.

What’s tempting me?
Whatever watch is on an eBay.de €1 start auction, finishing midweek!
The Internet is a dangerous thing.
Only a quartz but only €1 at the moment.
I quite like the red face on this Hanowa SM and they are terrific value.
A nice vintage Tissot automatic, will see how much this goes for and maybe make a cheeky bid.
This WW2 Silva looks interesting, and there isn’t a big market for vintage military watches in Germany (maybe because they lost)
A nice Invicta Fliegeruhr, currently at €1.
There’s a fine line between building a collection and buying lots of tat, a line I am determined to cross.

Having seen "First Man" recently - I have a hankering for a Speedmaster Pro !
There seems to be a lot of versions and a lot of choice - 1957, Reduced, MoonWatch Hesalite, Sapphire Sandwich, First Omega in Space etc etc but will keep looking for a reasonably priced Hesalite Moonwatch with the latest box and goodies.
Anyone bought from SecondTimeAround ?
They have THIS one for sale at what seems a good price.

Or for £200 more you could have a brand new Moon one from PH’s favourite dealer, Dom Hackett:

I like that! Where can you get it?
Well I've done some diggingThere were a whole bunch of these made in the late 1960s early 70s
it was basically any any car company you could think of and even some Oil companies Logos printed on the face.
They do come up for sale every now and again
I googled Steering Wheel watches, then Images
here's a bit more detail, prices seem to vary from a low as $40.00 to over $600
