This was bought by my grandfather as a gift for my fathers 21st.
Lots of history with this watch as I remember it been worn by my father when I was a child and I still occasional wear it today.
Battered and bruised, but I love the vintage look it has.

What does the handwritten note say on the instruments? "Rembr wheels B4 landing"?
seriously though - why no 'pilot watch'?

Interesting, thanks.
I have to decide whether to get one of these in the next 4 weeks. I can get one for list (USD) and may do so to put on eBay when I get home.
I am in two minds though, it is a significant amount of cash, and I have a genuine fear of it not selling quickly, and me having nothing to live on!
For the mods, I have NO INTENTION of attempting to sell the potential watch to anyone here.

My thoughts? No one has a crystal ball but if they phase out the red script when it isn't an "anniversary" any more then I think it has the potential to raise in value over the medium term-look at anniversary subs these days. If the purchase isn't going to squeeze you financially then I'd say it's worth a punt, look after it, wear it for five years and barring a world financial crash I can't see you losing money from list price (or little enough to not make much difference) and be in with a chance of making a tidy sum on it.
So, I am undecided, but they seem to be up on eBay from anywhere around £10-12.5k. I can get one for a lot less than that.
ETA I should add, once again, due to past unintentional brush with the mods on this subject, if I buy this watch I have no intention of trying to sell it through here.

I have a few diver type watches but find myself leaning towards this one currently - just so comfortable on my wrist and the perfect size - rather than some dinner plate on my wrist.
Love that. I am still on the lookout for the 1521 Satinato Blue with the blasted case - didn't know anything about them until it was too late.Likes Fast Cars said:
