Single Brand collections
Discussion
I've never been exclusive to a single brand, but I have / have had several of a single brand at a time.
I currently have 6 Seiko's, 5 Sinn's and 4 Heuer's (all Autavias).
I only have a group shot of the Autavias
Until late 2015 (when I needed to raise cash for a property purchase) I also had these.
The Kermit & BLNR went.

I buy a watch I like and I wear it. My income doesn't permit multiple luxury watches.
This thread is probably not for you then but feel free to check back in occasionally if you have anything constructive to add. Tuffers ... Nice collection .. not all to my taste but nice variety,
Don ... Why so many that are the same SS sports style?? (not meant in a obnoxious way but just I'd have different watches)

Andy, nice collection of Autavias, they will appreciate in time, just like the vintage ones.
Thanks. I'd say they are vintage already ranging from mid 70's to mid 80's but I know what you mean - much younger than the 2446 editions.
They are certainly on their way up in value compared with what I paid, especially as I bought them all before the Autavia's 40th anniversary. That's not why I bought them, although it's nice to know.
Our modest little lot, I say ours as I don't think I'll be wearing the datejust on the right any time soon. I didn't intend on starting out a collection but for me I've now got a watch for every occasion and they just happen to all be rolex.
The blue datejust was my 21st birthday present from my parents, I've worn it every day for almost two decades and it will never be sold. It's turned into a bit of a family tradition which has somewhat influenced some of my purchases but the main thing is it's only ever had 2 services, one to replace a scuffed glass that I did when drunk and finally last year when it started losing time.
I get why some don't like the brand but considering I wear this when on site, working on cars or even just every day to work they are impeccably well built.
The family tradition thing meant my wife was really only ever going to get one thing as a surprise on our wedding day. She knew nothing of it and the photo of her opening the box that the photographer managed to get, the reaction on her face is priceless and worth the cost alone.
Although the datejust would be dressy enough for some I then decided I wanted a proper precious metal dress watch and after many, many different trials I fell in love with the Cellini. It maybe only gets a few outings a year but it's worth it, I almost went for yellow gold with black leather but I never wear gold so it looked out of place. The combination of white gold, black mother of pearl and ostrich strap sold this one to me.
Finally the Sea Dweller. I was intending to buy a grape dial ladies oyster for my daughters first birthday but worried that she may not like it when she turned 18. So I did what any PH'r would and bought one for myself on the proviso that I will sell when she is older andit will fund whichever she likes. So this one is my daughters for now, I'm just borrowing it
(Yes, my wife really did believe me!)

Those Autavias are beautiful, the GMT is an all time great. The orange is one of my all time faves, a few years back I missed out on a minty one on eBay because I thought £1000 was over priced I'd say they are vintage already ranging from mid 70's to mid 80's but I know what you mean - much younger than the 2446 editions.
