My jewellers is the largest in Glasgow and they were only allocated 4 this year.

If the red writing on this 50th anniversary model becomes standard and the model is "just'" a Sea Dweller then you will get one in a year or two.

If the red writing changes to white after the 50th anniversary "celebrations" end then you have no chance!

I have tried to get a Ceramic Daytona and I know I might get one for my 40th....

I have just turned 35!

How do they know how many they got allocated since the default story for AD's has always been "Rolex never give us heads up on what they'll deliver us and when". Unbelievable how much BS there is out there.

They DON`T know

They get a list a couple of days before of what they will PROBABLY get, often they get the list but they don`t get everything on the list!

Nice one, lovely watch, the other SS rolex apart from the DSSD and YMII are pretty small, the SD43 has more about it.

I see WF have just taken in 6 SD43.

Have they?

Do they have their own category or have they all sold already?

What's the going rate for an SD4000 in the UK at the moment?

Just found one, brand new at Rolex, here in the Caymans.

Tempting as it's my favourite watch, though I'd probably have to sell some combination of (old) SD, (old) Sub D, (old) Coke GMTII.

Didn't prices jump (if you can find one) with the announcement of the SD43 Red?

Is it typical that you want one and I have one?

WF have 8 (had 9 last week) and they are pretty much all £9k (£9250 for the newest they have) but they don't seem to be shifting quickly

Another London dealer had one for that price about 3 weeks ago and it went quite quickly

How serious are you?

Well, let's just say that it's significantly (4-figs) cheaper than those and obviously brand new from Rolex themselves, which always 'feels' good, if that makes sense.

What are dealers paying for them? I don't like the thoughts in my head now (stop the voices!).

I hate to agree with you on the "new" thing, I don't think you'd see more than £7.500 if you brought one back WITH stickers etc

It's less than that, even, albeit not a lot worth worrying about (I spent more than the difference having a private doctors appointment/ drugs for bronchitis when I landed!).

Interesting that there seem to be more sports Rolex available here. Seen a DSSD, Sub ND, Sub D, Sub Hulk, Black GMTII, Blue and Grey Yachties and the SD4000, new, at dealers.

Anecdotally; certainly easier to get them abroad than the UK (haven't been looking so much of late and you've probably noticed I'm less active in the watch forum, these days).

Not a sniff of a Daytona of SD43 though!

Evening chaps

Is it still possible to buy this model new from a Rolex dealer? I have got my name down at one dealer already, are there quite a few accepting order still or am I unlikely to get this model now?

Thank you
I have my name down for one at my local AD but they have told me the wait is 12-18 months as I only asked for one this week, a friend got the 2nd one from this AD and that arrived recently, The AD said they where told to expect about 3 this year but they have already had those so the view was more to come than they expected. (but who knows)

Well here is the thing, I often browse the "in coming" section, that evening 6 SD43 were showing on there, and it looked like the one they had for sale had gone, the next day the 6 had gone but the one had appeared in the main for sale section again.

So either a glitch or they don't what to show how many they have so took them down, I know I wouldn't want to say I'd got "loads" if I was trying to pump them out at over 4k above list.

I think they do have a strategy of drip feeding / releasing their stock but it hasn't stopped them putting 8 or 9 SD4k's up for sale!

Good to see prices of these are softening. What was a £12500+ grey market price tag is now a Circe £10500 grey market price tag.

But they and other grey market retailers have said they sell really well, that’s why they hold as much stock as they can get hold of..

There are several currently for sale that have been available for a couple of months. Our very own Mr Hackett has had his for getting on for 3 weeks and it’s not sold even though it’s at the very bottom of the pricing spectrum. Compare them to how quickly a BLNR or an LN shifts and I personally think the ‘halo’ is wearing off quicker than most imagined/hoped.

Watchfinder are once again trying to manipulate the market, but this time they appear to be failing, which I am glad about. I am totally fed up with how they have fked the market over the past few years.
