Having swapped my Rolex GMT on to an Everest rubber I decided to pop my Omega GMT on to rubber as well.

The Rolex change was because I really didn't like the bracelet - see previous thread:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Omega because I find bracelets aren't ideal out here as the heat expands and shrinks the wrist quite a lot. Needs to be rubber because I'm in and out of pool and sea a fair bit.

Went with a Hirsch rubber strap and fancied a bit of colour so chose red to match the GMT and tip of second hand. I have a deployant on order. I haven't worn the Omega for a year or so due to it being on bracelet, now it's back on my wrist it reminds me of why I would never sell it - probably my favourite watch that I own.

Very happy now with both.

That looks lovely!

Apparently the Everest and Rubber B submariner straps also fit a Seamaster perfectly and look great but I'm yet to try it.

Is that right? Didn't even occur to me to try.

I'll have a go!

Will do, even if it's 'wahhhhh I broke my strap/watch!'

Thanks. Classic watch I think.

I find the new Seamasters just too big for my taste (and thin wrist).

Both the Omega and Rolex are 40mm - perfect for me.

This watch is a 2001 and I bought it second hand in 2011.

Fantastic lume, sword hands, red GMT hand - it's all good!

Its the Omega deployment it came on - tried it on the bracelet but was too big and heavy on my insect arm.

I've now had 2 Everest bands fail, both at just over 2 years old. It's worth keeping an eye on them. I'll try the Rubber B next.

Both times where the buckle 'pin' goes through the hole. They started to tear from the hole outwards.

Thanks - I'll keep an eye on that.

Mind you with, at last count, 27 watches in the box nothing gets to be worn for too long; including the Rolex.

Always a weak point on any strap. I've got a Cuervo Y Sobrinos Robusto where this is happening. It's very much a custom strap for the watch and CYS want £400 for a new one!

Just checked on Chrono24 and they are six of my type of GMT for sale.. so help yourself!

They haven't gone down in price since I bought mine though.
