Hello all

Some rare sunshine and an idea got me outside this morning with my camera and one of my favourite models in the Rolex range.

This beautiful GMT Master is being delivered next week to one of my customers and she wanted to give it a casual look that would look great with jeans.

I think it is a fantastic variation to this classic sports watch and just feels and looks great on the wrist and for those who may have worn it on a bracelet this is something a little different for just £230! The strap is by Rubber B which we bought from Rockefellers and took the option of a strap that would allow our customer to use the deployant clasp. You just cut it to fit.

I had one of my own fitted to a red Rubber B strap and likewise it looked well.

Hope you are all out enjoying the weekend sun before the rain comes

Cheers

Jonathan

I'd always describe my GMT II as an 'aviators watch'. Y'know, what with it being designed for pilots travelling between time zones.

I hope your customer likes the strap. Mine will be staying on its (soon to be) 27 year old oyster bracelet.

It looks terrible. Why anyone does this to any Rolex sports is beyond me. The only Reference that looks ok is a 14060, or previous models, Sub on a NATO.

I can't see what's wrong with that watch looks good to me.

I guess he's one of those "pre ceramic GMT has to have either jubilee or nothing" purists and I understand that. But I like rubber bands since they usually are the comfiest option and this doesn't offend me.

Not sure why but to my eyes GMTs never look great on straps, don't know why!

I think Rubber B straps are fantastic quality

I wish they had brought the width of the strap to the edge of the case like they do on the Deepsea version

Nato straps are only ever (approaching) acceptable on a Boy Scout's cheap toy watch.

Right.....and a rubber strap is the height of sophistication and class.

I adore the Patek 5167 & 5164 for example, but (practicalities aside if actually used for diving) the strap cheapens the whole thing.
On the other hand, I would happily wear a NATO all day every day, and have in the past.

Then again what do I know...I hate metal bracelets too hehe

I think some NATOs are particularly st

I've just started to wear a decent one a 5513 and have been really really enjoying it, not sure I fancy it on a maxi case though!

I saw a pic of a white dial ceramic Daytona with black NATO which shocked me, thought it looked great
