Never met Dom, but I have had a chat on the phone. His enthusiasm is infectious. He's also a good guy,he wasn't able to compete with the deal that I had lined up and told me so without messing about. He then went on to offer some valuable advice. He knows his stuff, genuinely loves what he does and won't try to stitch you up with a wrong'un.
He should also come with the warning that he's a rather good salesman!
He is a PH member and posts in this forum occasionally.

You can buy anywhere you like for probably similar money.

But why would you buy from somewhere/someone that you've had no feedback for when you can buy from someone with excellent feedback and what appears to be outstanding customer service?

At the end of the day its your ~£3k, Spend it how you wish, but you've had plenty recommendations as to where you should spend it

Read 100s articles on the speedmaster and I'm ready to go have upto £2800k waiting ideally want used to take away depreciation. What is the best exact spec to get I've read people taking about different models I want one I willlose least on? Any for sale?

I just bought a new moon watch for £2920. This is nearly £600 off list. For me this made it not worth getting a used one.

I can see a few planet oceans knocking about for £3k i have never looked at these before. Too many choices. Definately off the |Tudor cannot afford the Rolex. My budget is £3k. What is the best watch the speedmaster or planet ocean? what are the ket differences

One being a chrono and the other not is a pretty big difference?

seems that the speedy is the best bet but so many options, automatic non automatic and then people talking about their being plenty of special editions etc i just dont know which one to get. The planet ocean looks bulky ive never seen one in the flesh. I am no expert on watches so forgive me.

Classic Speedmaster Moonwatch is manual wind, non auto 42mm.

There are lots of other versions - including a reduced which doesn't seem to be as desirable.

The special editions - there are lots and lots.

Surely you just buy the one you like the most??

I know for a fact that i'd like a classic Speedmaster - probably from the late 80's early 90's, Hesalite, manual wind. - if anyone has one for the sub £2k please let me know

Then spunk £5k that you don't have on a desirable limited edition Snoopy that'll probably go up in value.

or buy the classic original that doesn't seem to lose a great deal ever.

I have a planet ocean and a speedmaster snoopy. The planet ocean is the small size version and is so easy to wear everyday. The speedmaster is also fab. I also have a rolex sea dweller, the strap seems cheap in comparison and the planet ocean keeps better time. Choice is yours!

Tried on a snoopy in January and thought .... expensive considering it's risen 100% in the last 3~4 years
Still it went before I returned having bitten the bullet
It's likely the watch I'll never own and the one I want the most.
It'll never lose value so by that reckoning it's the one to search for

£1100 was a good price. I have the original selling receipt for mine which was £1600 in 2003.

If you want to sell it this guy i am looking for one - Going rate is £6500 not 7500 fyi.

It was a good price, I went round all the local jewellers and asked what was the best price if bought one today cash. I have no need or desire to sell it, although I don't wear it much now, but used to use it daily. First one I found for-sale on line was 7.5k, I don't doubt you could buy one for less.
